Well after 2 years I finally got covid!! Unfortunately my country no longer has self isolation rules so my work wanted me in but out of respect for my colleagues I called in sick instead. I'm currently isolating in my bedroom with what would normally be a bad head cold and a small cough. It's giving me a chance to play with some new to me CC like Paradise.

When you get this, please respond with five things that make you happy! Then, send to your last ten people in your notifs! You never know who might benefit from spreading positivity 🌈✨ (no pressure)
Thanks for thinking of me @claudettesims, I love these lists going around, its nice to learn little things about people. Turns out on checking my notifications @rurpleplayssims tagged me as well!!
5 things that make me happy...
1. Fresh flowers in a vase, I never grew up with fresh flowers as there just wasn't the money spare to have them. As an adult they are the little treat to myself every other week. I particularly love bright and colourful flowers, they just remind me I'm doing ok for myself.
2. Knitting, I've been doing lots of it recently (hence no updates here), its really positive for my mental health and I feel super productive while doing it.
3. My dog, she's a Silken Windhound and an absolute goofball and weirdo. Her nickname is catdog as we're not always entirely sure which one she is (I mean, look at those whiskers). She's so loving and kind and gentle and just wants to be friends with almost everything she meets (cow and horses are the exception, she's terrified of them).

4. Visiting historic places/museums/nature makes me really happy, I love learning and think experiencing it is a really great way to learn. I'm fortunate enough to have lived near and visited some really amazing places over the years. I'm always happy on an archaeological site with one exception, Mine Howe, I got such an intense feeling of disassociation and claustrophobia that I couldn't stay.
5. While I do love to travel I do actually feel happiest at home (wherever that may be, I've lived in 3 different areas of the UK in the last 5 years), there's not much better than a good film/TV series/audiobook, my knitting and some snacks for a happy relaxing afternoon.

Another lot inspired by a real world house I saw online although I had to make up the floorplan (what's with US site not offering a floorplan as standard!!) so it's super boring.

I've been super busy recently, it seems that after I self isolated and returned to work all my colleagues had to self isolate instead. This week in particular in my department 5 of 8 colleagues are currently on holiday or isolating. So the only time I've had the energy to play was for about an hour last weekend (I'm working all this weekend and week) and I took a single photo as I explored Beacon Falls for a little while.

Look who's self isolating again... I've been really careful (haven't eaten out or been in anyone else's house) as I'm slightly more vulnerable than average for my age group due to asthma. I've had my first vaccination and have some lateral flow tests ready to take thanks to work if I start with any symptoms. Tbh I've been feeling pretty run down the last few months so 10 days off to do nothing sounds pretty great and I might even find some time to play Sims.

I've not had much motivation these last few weeks so I started a new save, I decided to have a go at Sunset Valley. It's such a beautiful recreation and a 'hood in itself and there could be some very interesting characters in here so I'm letting Story Progression do its thing until I properly get started.
I'm not sure if I'm going to share any regular gameplay but so far I'm having fun visiting the different families, adding in their traits and some sim and house makeovers.

I think you make lovely houses, especially the starters :)
Thank you so much. I still feel very new to sharing anything and finding my style but I really appreciate any and all feedback particularly the positive and constructive.

It's super exciting seeing my lots in people's games!!! I love the bright colours, it almost doesn't look like the same lot, I love it!
I'd love to see more pictures of my lots in people's games, change it all you want (structurally etc, I don't mind) and please tag me. It'll give me inspiration for my own game and potential decorating choices.
I decorated Spring Lodge by @crafty-simmer for one of the Cloudwatch kids to live in when they grow up and thought it turned out really nicely so I wanted to share :) I think I’m getting better at decorating!

After having a chat with a fellow simmer (and some ego stroking) I was challenged (self inflicted) to create some starter lots. They aren't my usual territory, I get easily carried away but it was nice to try something different. This is hopefully the first of several different starter lots.

I try to avoid too much identifying info on here (fairly private person) but I've said I'm an archaeologist. I actually lived on Orkney near Twatt for 4 years as an archaeologist (there's a Twatt in both Sheltand and Orkney, if you're sea sick I'd stick to Orkney). The Twatt road sign was a popular tourist spot (I wonder why??) and it was repeatedly stolen, every single time they replaced it within a week it would be gone again. They eventually worked out if you combined it with more boring place names the rate of theft decreased dramatically - no one wants to see Dounby (pronounced doon-be) on their wall.

The aged and rusting pole is very noticeable compared to the pristine sign mounted on it. I wonder if the other unusual place names have the same issue and what their solutions are.
Another of my favourites not on this list is Wetwang in Yorkshire, not too far from where I grew up and another amazing archaeological site nearby.

Whomst trying to road trip
