"God Dammit, shut the fuck up. No one cares.” he began looking over at the parties beside him the smile never fading from his face. “we don’t care how much your daddy made last year. Either bet or walk, those are your options.”

“Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well. I don’t honestly know what you expected from me, this is who I am. I’m a mess who gets naked for lots of money.” she admitted.

Keegan looked at his watch as she buzzed about the room, stressing about the engagement party. “You know if we leave now you can have three cocktails before you see your parents.” He offered wondering if it would calm her nerves down. He knew she hated seeing and being with her family, her step brothers being the exception to the rules. Aubreee’s words were running together he was barely able to understand her when he grabbed her hands in one of his. “Shorty...Will you please take a deep breath and exhale slowly for me. You’re going to hyperventilate if you don’t stop. Everything will be okay and I’ll be with you the entire time.” leaning in placing a gentle kiss on her lips Keegan smiled. “Better?”

Charli was used to giving bad news to people, however receiving it was new for her. The man who told her she should sit down was now an enemy. Her heart and soul were compromised. Her body was the enemy as she felt her legs giving out from underneath her. "I-" she wants even able to form words as he looked at the unopened letter in her hand. Thumb running over the letters he'd penned down. "P-please leave." She said as calmly as she could manage. "I just need you to leave. I need to be alone." The man nodded standing up and extending his hand and condolences once more. Ushering him out and going upstairs she crawled into the bed they shared. Silent tears falling down her face as she looked at the letter, their daughter kicking her insides. "Shhh, it's okay little girl. It's okay." Rubbing her stomach absentmindedly Charli continued to stare at the letter.
This letter. The last thing that he wrote, he was missing. He was assumed dead. However her heart couldn't let her believe that possibility. Looking at the dumb smile he had on their last tequila and taco night. The photo frame was now hurling through the air hitting the wall. "You promised!" She screamed, the glass shattered landing on the floor as the blonde cried harder into the pillow. "You promised, you said you wouldn't leave me! Then you leave me alone! Why would you do this to me?!" The blonde was always strong Charli was very independent, needing someone, wanting someone the way she wanted Parker. That was terrifying for her and he did the one thing she was afraid of. He was gone. The tears flowed harder till Charli found herself sound asleep. The afternoon turned to night as she slept she'd exhausted herself from crying. Looking outside the night sky was beautiful. It reflected how she felt dark and filled with uncertainty. Sitting up her she heard a crinkle of paper and saw the letter. It wasn't a dream, everything was real. Her worst nightmare had come true. She was alone. Alone.
Turning on the light beside their bed she slipped a finger under the flap, beginning to rip the envelope and its contents open. Unfolding the paper her hand traced the lines he'd folded. After taking a deep breath she was able to focus on the words. The first started bringing her to tears. Parker knew the words to say to break her walls down. The more she read the more her heart ached. When he said she'd be an amazing mother she nearly choked, her selfishness prevented her from thinking about their baby never meeting her daddy. The man who would want better parent then Charli would and ever could be. Parker loved kids and it came naturally to him, charli not so much. "Your daddy would love you very much. He would talk to you and make fun of my fat ankles.my cravings for chocolate covered with hot sauce." She chuckled. Her smile faltered when she realized she'd used him in the past tense. She kept reading, about his promotion, his medals. "You're not funny, parked." She sighed. Getting to the last line broke her, "one more month, Charlotte." He knew she hated being called Charlotte. But God did she love him. She knee in her heart he loved her too. Her tears flowed as she read the letter about 12 more times her tears started to smudge the ink. Refolding the letter and placing it back in the envelope she allowed herself another half hour to cry. Which took three hours, before pulling herself somewhat together to take a shower and eat. Which she hadn't done in the past 36 hours.
The Final Letter || Parker x Charli
A gloved hand knocked gently on the wooden door before it. The chaplain removed his cap, tucking it beneath his arm and folding his hands in front of him. As the door swung open to reveal the blonde behind it the man gave a sad smile, but at the moment she saw him her face fell. “Miss Winston? My name is General Wright, I’m with the U.S. Army. I have some news about Lieutenant Colonel Parker Winters. Ma’am, if you’d like to take a seat inside I would suggest that best.”

The surgery took about 4 hours and the man had lost a good amount of blood, being AB- was a problem for him seeing as he was a rare type. It wasn’t good when he had to have a transfusion and he needed two. Now he was resting comfortably in his hospital bed, machines being with his pulse and oxygen levels. A bit groggy he woke up a small groan from the left over gas in his chest where they had to remove the bullet. His throat dryer then the desert, nonetheless he was alive and breathing. “Water...” he breathed trying to reach out to grab the buzzer he knew would be beside his bed from the plethora of trips he’d taken to the ER as a young child.
When his hand hit another before reaching the buzzer. His eyes opened wondering who would be in the room with him when his eyes focused on Ellie. Her eyes slightly red and her face puffy from what looked like crying. “Please don’t tell me you’ve been here and blown off your shift to be my personal hospital nurse. You have other people who need you too, El.” he whimpered taking the water downing it quickly as he was finally able to speak properly. “How did you even know I was here?”
&&.LIAM:
“Fucking christ.” Liam sighed, as he was once again pushed back onto the gurney. “You’ve been shot in the shoulder and the chest, you need emergency surgery. Do you understand, Detective Daniels?” The nurse repeated once more for the stubborn man.
………….
He wasn’t sure what this day was going to have for him when he woke up, he wasn’t expecting to be shot in a drive by while in the convenience store. Had he planned for being shot he might have gotten the burrito he wanted instead of just pouring a cup of coffee. Then all of a sudden 10 shots rang out as he ducked down to the floor as the glass sprayed out of the windows. The clerk hiding behind the counter as the blonde man ran to try and grab a description of the car to give to his collegues. “You’re bleeding? You’re bleeding!” was all the clerk was saying as Liam tried to get a few shots off himself. His left shoulder stinging as he became more aware of the pain, “Call 911!”
…………..
“Detective Daniels, can we call anyone for you?” she asked as they were prepping to put him under anesthesia. “I- I don’t know, I don’t think so. I’ll be okay.” Nodding she asked him to start counting backwards from 10.
The blonde had managed to get herself a few double shifts this week. Granted she was extremely tired, however with Kenny’s recent situation Ellie had to keep the lights on and money on her younger brothers books. Lyla wasn’t much to keep up with, hell considering since Ellie packed her things and left at the age of eighteen the two hadn’t spoken since. The blonde was alone in her own little world but pushed through so that others could not tell. So she channeled all of her losses into her work. Saving lives, assisting with those who could do just the same, it was the only part of her that made a difference.
Rushing through the halls followed by another nurse The blonde grabbed the chart an EMT handed her upon rushing behind a few others that were rushing into the surgery room. Emerald orbs scanned over the sheet, until she found her chest tightening up, Liam’s name shouting back at her in big bold ink. ❝When did this come in, this patient, where is he!❞ He tone frantic. As the other pointed her towards the surgery room the woman trotted down the halls and over to where they had taken him. Banging on the door, she pleaded with the others to let her in, though they had advised her she would see him after surgery. Worry and doubt had taken over, the two had been separated for some months now, even so their talking was scare. Now here he was, laying on the operating table fighting for his life.
Sitting off behind the glass window, hours had passed before he was in the clear and out of operation. And through it all, the blonde couldn’t seem to leave his side. All she needed was for him to wake up, to know that he was going to make it out of this okay.

Austin sat down on the bench waiting for his father to come out of the station. Twenty three years of his life was spent looking up to his father. So today being the day he was signing up to join the department was a big deal. He couldn’t imagine how this day would go, he was nervous in some ways knowing that the job isn’t the easiest. That somedays a bad day at the office meant someone didn’t come home. However the duty and honor of being a fireman was what he aspired to be from the first day his dad gave him his helmet after work. A strong hand on his shoulder alerted him to a person behind him. Looking up to see his father smiling down at him.

“Your son...!” Was never a good way to begin a sentence for Talia, it let Arman knew she was not pleased in the least. “Your son got suspended from school for fighting. For punching another kid in the face, he said he deserved it with no explination for his action whatsoever. You go talk to him or so help me god, I might fight that 16 year old myself.” Her voice was raised in anger the more she talked the more she could hear the hints of her mother as well as Arman’s mother in her words.

“Nathan...” she whined as his hand moved between her thighs unable to stop him. “We have dinner with your dad and Kono in forty minutes. If you keep doing that we’re going to be late.” Destiny tried to close her legs but his grip remained tighter on her as his lips touched her neck. “If we’re late I’m straight up telling them it’s your fault.” she giggled as his hand moved. When Nathan Brewer wanted something, he got his way which meant then and there. Destiny was never able to say no the the man beside her not that she wanted to anyways.

Friday night and she knew she was supposed to work till close with Wyatt. “Come on, I’ll work next Thursday so you can fly out Wednesday to meet Nala. Please Wy.” she tried to plead with her brother so she could take her girlfriend out to the new club downtown. “Make it Thursday and you do prep for the homeless dinner next weekend.” He grinned as he was crushing up hot cheetos for his famous hot cheeto chicken. “Deal! I love you, you’ve always been my favorite.” she said dashing to give him a kiss before hanging up her apron on the rack.
text: Hey sweet cheeks! Got the night off you still want to go to the club opening with me?
Pushing her phone into her back pocket, Nola headed out the door getting on her motorcycle to head to her apartment. She had about 4 hours to get ready, which meant she had 2 because traffic, Cat being a shit texter, then the fact she needed to go and grab a new outfit.
