i think encouraging kids to name bugs they find is one of the greatest anti-squashing & anti-being-so-scared-of-the-spider-in-the-bathroom-you-pee-yourself-on-the-way-to-music measures u can take. anyway yesterday i came back from makin copies to find that the kids had trapped a spider in a Bug Observation Containment Unit & named it Fruity & after a little while i was like Ok fruity looks like hes dying im gonna take him outside. & as i step out another aide, passing in the hallway, witnesses me exiting the room to calls of "BYE FRUITY!!!!" & looks at me in exasperation like she was positive i had done something So gay that all the kids were calling me a fruit .
