A final note on Cravings (vvilt). During three months crossing 2015/2016, deliveries of flowers from the local flower shop Blomsterstua were made every tenth day to KUBE Kunstmuseum in Ålesund. These were limited by a maximum amount of flowers, all of which needed to be in season. The old flowers were documented before the new flowers were placed and documented by the museum staff. Documentation was to be taken by which ever handy device available. The structure the flowers were placed into was configured by Aamås as a segment in the ongoing site sensitive sculpture series Cravings. It stretched over two floors. As you scroll this tumbler archive you will be walking backwards, seeing the last flowers first. Some material is included which surfaced during the work to figure out which flowers is which and how it is categorised, as well as some rumination on decomposing, time, composition and connections.

So many uses. Such a pleasure to make categories. So much like a human entity with limbs and parts of the body set to do specific things. So skinless. So without agency, but still organic, carriers of meaning. Investment. So many places to be use-full. Such a pleasure. Such a fragrance. Such a shelter. How they give them selves.

Circular time process

What is the role of art in an age of accelerating social change and environmental uncertainty? The work “Cravings (vvilt)” brought an aspect of circular time into KUBE Art Museum in Ålesund. For three months. New flowers every ten days from Blomsterstua Ålesund. Disposed, placed, arranged and documented by the gentle museum staff. There are other times than the linear time of expansive growth.
