Your millipedes are so cool! I’m hoping to have some eventually- I currently have several species of isopods- would you describe their care as similar to them or is there anything else I should be doing?
I'm pretty much an amatuer when it comes to insect keeping so I can't be too helpful here. But I do keep them pretty similarly, I'd say with woodlice/isopods the main different for me is they're a lot more forgiving then Millipedes with tempature and moister, also they bred so much faster, you'll never run out of them where as Millipedes I haven't had much luck with babies and will likely have to buy more if I want to keep them forever. Millipedes also need much deeper soil that isopods. I'd say if you really want to get millipedes to make sure you do your research on the species as most need different things which is a BIG issues I'm currently dealing with after just getting a bunch in a mystery box and not being prepared for their different needs from each species.

While working on my firefly larva portrait, I visited the insect collections at UW Madison and did a few sketches. These lovely little ones have such interesting heads and mouthparts–they can telescope their necks outward to better reach prey like snails within their shells. (The top left sketch of the underside of the head depicts it with neck retracted.) And yes–some are that captivatingly pink!

flatid planthopper nymph, Singapore. hemipterans (true bugs) like these have mastered the art of covering oneself in weird waxy filaments, which are shed along with their last juvenile molt, revealing a sleek, gossamer-winged adult
