If you were to assign your character a scientific name in the modern taxonomic sense, what would it be? Is this name based on the fact that they're literally not a human and thus need a different name, or are you just assigning your human characters species names based on their traits? Would any of your characters be in the same genus (i.e. closely related, but different species)? (Some Wikipedia pages you may find helpful are "List of commonly used taxonomic affixes" and "List of Latin and Greek words commonly used in systematic names").
