When you think of some of the greatest collection of Hip-Hop music, who comes to mind, which album cover captured the entire project with a single image? Was it a verse or was it a bar that gave you chills and made you say I have to have this project when it drops? How many classical albums have you had to buy over and over again? Did you read the credits? Did you read to see who they thanked? How did you feel trying to rip off that annoying ass plastic wrapping and the even more annoying sticker or label thingy clamped at the top of the jewel case? What feature were you most excited about? What producer were you impatiently waiting to hear what they had cooked up for them? Once you got past the artwork, the annoying plastic and sticker label thingy, while you’re reading the credits and you’re midway through you can’t wait to start it all over from track one but be patient enjoy this moment, because at this very moment you’re in a world that didn’t exist before you ripped the plastic off. What about that albums title, how did that title connect to you? All of these things that brought joy to a Hip-Hop fan every one of them this is the reason they call it “The Golden Era”. Can you believe that today in Hip-Hop fans can hear a song on the radio and go home and get on this thing called the internet and go to a place on the internet called YouTube and listen to the song they heard on the radio just a few moments ago….I’m jealous I don’t know about you but I am JEALOUS! Do you realize how much music I had to listen to how many hours I spent listening to the radio just to hear ONE song? These days they play your favorite song every other five minutes. For example we all remember the Jay-Z and Nas beef and we all remember the subliminal shots by both emcees before it was actually public and we all heard Takeover on repeat and we ALL had to wait THREE months to hear Nas reply with Ether, man what a time. From a fans point of view to a lover of music I gladly introduce to you Eskay Home or as he refers himself to Skinny Nigga On The Boat, and that’s a SNOB to the culture the lyrics the production the ARTWORK!!! This album will be one of those albums that will go over heads and you didn’t really hear it until ten years later. Don’t be one of the ones who heard it ten years later and say “Oh I’ve been a fan since day one”. Get the project when it drops and share it with your friends it’ll remind you of “The Golden Era” what’s better than Gold at least these days?
