''Do you think that when there is a storm in an ocean the ocean and the storm are separate? When the ocean is agitated and disturbed, we call it a storm. Similarly when the soul is agitated and disturbed, when it is restless, it is called mind. And when the mind is quiet it is again soul. Mind is the restless state of the soul, and soul is the quiet and tranquil state of the mind. In other words, when consciousness is disturbed and agitated, when it is stirred and tempestuous, it is mind. That is why so long as you are in mind you can not be aware of the atman, or the soul. And for the same reason the mind ceases to be, when it is in meditation.
But what does it mean to cease? It means that the waves raging in the sea of the soul, have quieted down. It is only then that you know you are a soul. So long as you are disturbed and restless, you know your self, only as a mind. The restless mind appears in many forms – some times as ego, sometimes as intellect and sometimes as mind stuff. These are the different faces of the same restless mind.
The atman and mind are not separate. The atman and the body too are not separate; because the substance, the essence, the reality is one, and all these are transformations of the same. And if you know the one, all conflicts with the body or the mind, all strife comes to an end. Once you recognize the one, then it alone remains.''

61 I ujrzałem:
gdy Baranek otworzył pierwszą z siedmiu pieczęci,
usłyszałem pierwsze z czterech Zwierząt
mówiące jakby głosem gromu:
«Przyjdź!»
2 I ujrzałem:
oto biały koń,
a siedzący na nim miał łuk.
I dano mu wieniec,
i wyruszył jako zwycięzca, by [jeszcze] zwyciężać2.
3 A gdy otworzył pieczęć drugą,
usłyszałem drugie Zwierzę mówiące:
«Przyjdź!»
4 I wyszedł inny koń barwy ognia,
a siedzącemu na nim dano odebrać ziemi pokój,
by się wzajemnie ludzie zabijali -
i dano mu wielki miecz3.
5 A gdy otworzył pieczęć trzecią,
usłyszałem trzecie Zwierzę, mówiące:
«Przyjdź!»
I ujrzałem:
a oto czarny koń,
a siedzący na nim miał w ręce wagę4.
6 I usłyszałem jakby głos w pośrodku czterech Zwierząt, mówiący:
«Kwarta pszenicy za denara
i trzy kwarty jęczmienia za denara,
a nie krzywdź oliwy i wina!»5
7 A gdy otworzył pieczęć czwartą,
usłyszałem głos czwartego Zwierzęcia mówiącego:
«Przyjdź!»
8 I ujrzałem:
oto koń trupio blady,
a imię siedzącego na nim Śmierć,
i Otchłań6 mu towarzyszyła.
I dano im władzę nad czwartą częścią ziemi,
by zabijali mieczem i głodem, i morem, i przez dzikie zwierzęta7.
9 A gdy otworzył pieczęć piątą,
ujrzałem pod ołtarzem dusze zabitych dla Słowa Bożego8
i dla świadectwa, jakie mieli.
10 I głosem donośnym tak zawołały:
«Dokądże, Władco święty i prawdziwy,
nie będziesz sądził i wymierzał za krew naszą kary tym, co mieszkają na ziemi?»
11 I dano każdemu z nich białą szatę
i powiedziano im, by jeszcze krótki czas odpoczęli,
aż pełną liczbę osiągną także ich współsłudzy oraz bracia,
którzy, jak i oni, mają być zabici.
12 9 I ujrzałem:
gdy otworzył pieczęć szóstą,
stało się wielkie trzęsienie ziemi
i słońce stało się czarne jak włosienny wór,
a cały księżyc stał się jak krew.
13 I gwiazdy spadły z nieba na ziemię,
podobnie jak drzewo figowe wstrząsane silnym wiatrem zrzuca na ziemię swe niedojrzałe owoce.
14 Niebo zostało usunięte jak księga, którą się zwija,
a każda góra i wyspa z miejsc swych poruszone.
15 A królowie ziemscy, wielmoże i wodzowie,
bogacze i możni,
i każdy niewolnik, i wolny
ukryli się do jaskiń i górskich skał.
16 I mówią do gór i do skał:
«Padnijcie na nas
i zakryjcie nas przed obliczem Zasiadającego na tronie
i przed gniewem Baranka,
17 bo nadszedł Wielki Dzień Jego gniewu,
a któż zdoła się ostać?»

There are twenty-four principal nadis: ten supply parts of the body above the navel, ten feed parts below the navel, and one pair of nadis branch to each side of the body. Ten out of the twenty-four principal channels are given special importance. Their names are: ida) pingala) sushumna) gand hari) hastijihva) pusha) yashasvini) alambusha) kuhu) and shankhini. These ten nadis that rise from the pelvic plexus terminate in special parts of the body. The ida terminates in the left nostril, the pingala in the right nostril, and the sushumna at the highest point of the cranium traditionally known as the brahmarandhra (aperture of immensity) and situated at the center of the dome of the skull. The gandhari ends in the left eye, the hastijihva in the right eye, the pusha in the right ear, the yashasvini in the left ear, the alambusha in the mouth, the kuhu in the genitals, and the shankhini in the anus.
The power called kundalini is another form of the cos mic energy of Prakriti that animates all life. Kundalini is also the power of all psychological drives and motivations and the foundation ofall emotions. According to the Tantra texts (Tantras), kundalini is composed of the three poten tial qualities (gunas) ofnature and the energy of will (iccha), knowledge (Jnana), and actions (kriyas). The famous Tara Rahasya Tantra describes the form of kundalini as "shining like ten million suns, cool like ten million moons, flash ing like lightning in the sky, but also without form like the Immensity, Brahman" (IV, 24).

Bandhas andMudras
The kundalini power that lies dormant at the base of the spine can be awakened by yogic techniques of neuromus cular locks (bandhas). Once awakened, the kundalini rises through the six chakras of the subtle body and ends in the sahasrara to give absolute bliss to the spiritual aspirant.
