Merlin is so aroace coded in this with the way he talks of love like it's a fake thing he doesn't understand. He wants to do his science and magic in peace and for Arthur to snap out of reminiscent times of when he still believed his wife loved him so that they could plot against her instead. vvvvvvv

And him being both super analytical and kinda grossed out about sex is just so asexual of him. He has a chance to watch Guenevere and Lancelot get it on, and instead, he compares them having sex to a time he saw two crocodiles making love, and is just like 'well. I have much more important things to do than worry about this. Time to go plot their downfall!' while the other dude he's with is just so eager to watch.

I can't wait to see where this story goes and so help me god merlin better not become romantically involved with anyone, I will be so upset.

enough stories about how someone learns to truely be happy through love. i want a story where someone is desperately seeking out love thinking it's the only way to be happy only for them to learn by the end that happiness is what they make of it and they don't need love at all to make it.
