Gävle Goat is Bock!

Welcome all straw goat and arson enthusiasts! Another year of Gävle Goat watching is upon us. Just a few things before the goat is officially up for the first Sunday of advent!

I will post the date on all of my goat updates, but it is still a good idea to turn timestamps on for your posts if you don’t already in case posts from old years start circulating.

I like to post my updates around midnight Swedish time, so keep in mind when that would be for your time zone if you are checking my blog for updates.

Cate Dunlap - Mind Reading from a distance, compulsion through physical touch. Can force someone to sleep, implant false memories, erase other memories. Used to help Godolkin University keep Sam contained and erase memories of anybody missing him. Eyes bleed if she uses her powers too much. Used to be on medicine that limited the mind reading and how often she could compel. Unknown what the current limit on compulsion is. Has used her powers to erase Sam's emotions so he can be a numb killing machine.

Cate hates humans, because she's seen to many supes suffer at human hands. She was ostracized from her own family because she told her brother to "go away and leave her alone" resulting in him wandering away and never being seen again. She assisted Godolkin University in keeping Sam contained, and erasing memories of the students investigating the supe containment/virus lab in the basement of the school. Learns God U only views students as lab rats or Vought Movie money makers. Hates that supes are being used as pawns.

(Had her arm exploded by blood control at the end of the series, unknown if or how she has 2 again.)

Sam Riordan - Super Strength and Durability. On par with Queen Maeve. Schizophrenic. Sam was being held in Godolkin University as a test subject to improve his brother's (now deceased) abilities. Agrees with Cate's sentiment that supes are being used by humans. Agrees to go on a school rampage, but is hesitant. Cate asks if she can remove his emotions and he consents.

Sam and Cate free the contained supes in the basement that end up going on the school rampage. Homelander appears and contains the situation. Vought spins the story so that the investigating students are framed as the aggressors, and makes Sam and Cate the "Guardians of Godolkin." Cate readily agrees to be on team Homelander, Sam agrees as well, though it seems mostly because he is following Cate.
