Matt & Trey portrayed Barbara Streisand as a screeching evil harridan destroying the town, and when interviewed about it said it was because she’d gone on record calling Coloradans a “bunch of hicks” and vowing never to play there.

What they played down, and I only just discovered today, is the reason behind Streisand’s statement was that Colorado had just passed an overtly homophobic amendment to the state constitution allowing discrimination based on sexuality.

Suddenly I want Mecha Streisand to get that Diamond of Pantheos after all.
