2024 Christmas cards I made for my family. Not as much of a consistent theme compared to the year before, but each one has personal meaning connected to the recipient.

turns out that a tin of putty that no one's touched for a decade is still perfectly usable, and very convenient for modelling 3d shapes at unusual angles. like if you know what the shape is but can't rotate it in your mind.... make it out of putty. and then you can just squish it and put the putty away and it will still be good years later

one annoying thing about having a rare problem is when someone is like "oh i know that, my friend also had that problem!" and you get your hopes up thinking that maybe someone else is going through this too, but then their friend's problem is something totally different and way less severe

like if you told someone that you were starting to grow shiny blue scales all over your skin, and they said "oh, my friend has that too! it's called psoriasis!"

i feel insecure around artists who genuinely like to draw human anatomy bc the only reason i enjoy drawing people is so i can give them little outfits and hairstyles, idrc about the actual person wearing them. and i also feel insecure around artists who never draw humans bc i think that's so cool and perfect. unfortunately i'm right in between, though - i sometimes draw humans but i don't have much actual interest in the human form. worst of both worlds
