// i just remembered that the last thing i did here before i went MIA ( again ) was discuss a harry potter au where dabi’s a durmstrang ( or some obscure private magic school ) dropout who went to juvenile wizard prison for acting out and other Reasons bc he had a shitty environment at home thanks dad. then comes the golden trio’s supposed seventh year and dabi’s released from prison and -- surprise surprise -- he’s become a full fledged death eater too. voldy puts him in hogwarts as a student to help keep an eye on things and to serve as the first line of attack when shit goes Down. dabi’s not too hot on the whole thing tbh he only joined the death eaters bc being Good is a myth and it made his life in prison easier. he only agreed bc he realised his siblings r gonna be in hogwarts too and he doesn’t want them to die this year -- even if they prolly won’t recognise or remember him after all these years. the altered polyjuice potion dabi consistently drinks to tweak his appearance as well as hide the hideous scars all over his body doesn’t help anyone from his past in recognising him either. basically, dabi is Bad but also wants to do some good and im terrible w AUs
