Dulcet honey dipped tones poured out of the radio. The faint crackle and pop of static accompaniment was like a melody. Almost hypnotic in its own way.

Was the tube on the radio glowing green? Or was it your imagination?

The voice continued through and you felt compelled to sit there and listen. “Tonight we have a treat for you. Jazz starlet, from the French quarter’s famous silver magnolia, Kitty Hart is here in our studio tonight. The sweet heart of the crescent city is going to sing us a song tonight~”

“Oh darling, it’s wonderful to be here!” A sultry female voice piped through.

When she began her song. It seemed the radio hummer and hissed along with it. Maybe you were crazy, but did the radio seemed pleased? Maybe you had simply stayed up too late to listen, after a long day.

Surely that wasn’t a growling sound coming from the old radio? You were simply hearing things. Right?

Your head felt funny. Dizzy. There was a pressure too. The radio hummed louder, another quiet growl and hiss lurching forth from it. Barely audible through the song

“I want to be bad”

You felt lightheaded, and took a seat. Eyes glazing over as you found yourself unable to pull away from the radio, transfixed by its sounds. It felt like your energy was being drained, but perhaps you were simply exhausted from the day. You weren’t sure when you fell asleep.

But eyes peppered along your walls staring.
