Honestly one of my favorite things about Lightning is how she’s just seemingly stopped giving any fucks about fal’Cie by the time we get to Gran Pulse. Each encounter is more amusing than the last.
Reach the Faultwarrens and initiate the cutscene with Titan. He goes on about how they should simply forfeit their lives to let the strong become stronger, and if Lightning is your party leader, she gives a rather defiant “Why don’t we let him see for himself who’s weak?”
Now head on over to the Sulyya Springs. Lightning isn’t even slightly rattled by Bismarck’s sudden appearance. “They grow ‘em big here,” she says with all the nonchalance in the world, whereas her companions all react with varying levels of alarm.
Then, just as casually, she proceeds to formulate a battle plan: “It should be clumsy out of the water. If we can get it to follow us onto dry land—” Bismarck promptly interrupts her by summoning monsters to fight in its stead. “Okay, guess that’s not happening.”
Soon after, you reach the Palisades and see Dahaka flying around. Lightning has exactly one thing to say during that cutscene and it’s just “What’s another fal’Cie at this point, huh?” If she isn’t your party leader, she’ll throw in a “No worries” afterward.

Quick drawing of Lightning - FFXIII

I love that character, such a strong woman, sadly going through a lot when all she wants is to save her sister...

She's my Light 😭💙
