ok so last night while trying to sleep i was reminded of a aphmau theory video during like mystreet s6 talking about the celestial cannon, a book that in hylian, and the movie "15 till midnight" and how all of that related to mystreet.
I have been looking for it and cannot find does anyone here know who made or have a link to the video it has been gnawing at my brain.

Although the writing of diaries had dropped what's your general opinion on Mcd Aphmau? I liked her generally and was annoyed with her in season 2 but generally fine. Oh boy I don't like season 3 Aphmau. I wish there was moral conflicts with her. She is a leader after all and it would be cooler if we saw her struggle more instead of ALWAYS being this benvelont goody two shoes. She would learn anyway given she was reborn with no memories right?
minecraft diaries season 1.
you're greeted by an energetic youtuber, ready to adventure and begin a world of roleplay, mystery, and fun. hey voice is peppy, either keeping you drawn in by the charm or annoying the shit out of you for listening to her for the millionth time. she's by no means a minecraft genius, but there's fun in that.
there's fun in watching her learn the world around her, having been obvious to all of the world around her. you learn as she does, and as she learns she begins to take what she knows and improve the world. she's now the protagonist of this beaten up little village, a smiling face that's only goal is to make things better for her and her growing family. life easier, more fun, enjoyable. there was so much misery and confusion before. she really helped it.
this woman was fun. she was growing. she didn't give up. she didn't understand. but she was love.
minecraft diaries season 2.
something has happened. years of her life were stripped from her in a matter of minutes; she would die the same death, of course, but the world moved on without her and everything she built was gone.
she is not so happy as she once was. there's a saddness to her now. her voice is heavier, not nearly as chipper as what you were used to. where did she go? her clumsy and silly conclusions, jokes, attempts - all washed away, leaving a shell of what once was.
she attempts to be the same, on occasion. but she's not. she doesn't carry the energy she once had. can we blame her?
we'll see.
this woman was tired. she was powerful. she wouldn't give up. she understood too much. but she was isolated.
minecraft diaries season 3.
a woman who was torn down, traumatized, and straight-up taken advantage of. she's come to terms with the fact that she has to make a name for herself, apparent from the title she'd received three years prior.
goddess.
that's not her. she has to prove it. that, and she has to prove she's not willing to be taken advantage of again. she's stronger now; you can hear it in her voice. something so lifeless, so serious, so routine.
she's here to prove she's different than what she spawned from.
it's not working. she's going backwards. she'd never been more herself from the point she'd started this adventure, she struggled to keep the ideals that kept her as
this woman was stern. she was formidable. she couldn't give up. she sought the truth. but she only needed herself to do it.
throughout minecraft diaries, we see a slow decline in what made aphmau such an interesting character to begin with. this head-on attitude, taking everything on first hand without taking in the risks. she wasn't here to stall, she was here to succeed. she did what she wanted, and what she felt would protect the people around her. in season 2, we lost a lot of the laughter s1 aphmau brought. we lost a lot of the smiles, the energy. we lost everything - because we lost jess.
now, say what you will, but in the end, season 1 aphmau was jess acting through a persona. yes, aphmau was in fact a character, but jess was just pulling the strings. she was just her. jess is a very energetic person, and that was very apparent in her initial performance of aphmau. notice, that as the season progressed and got deeper into the pit of the story, there ARE declines in said performance. because now, jess is learning that aphmau NEEDS to be a seperate character. with a world so in depth like this, a story running this deep? she can't hold aphmau's hand anymore!
she begins to distance herself from aphmau, making more clear-cut distinctions. aphmau is still oblivious to a lot of things, but she doesn't make a lot of foolish mistakes anymore. a lot of the clumsiness was gone, but the laughter was still mostly there! though, that was beginning to lose its momentum. aphmau was in much more serious situations, she needed to respond more appropriately than she did in the past. no more giggles in serious situations, no more "woah, that's a lot" in commentary of npcs dialogue, smiles seem more scarce.
by season 2, no more high-pitched youtuber charm. we're in the big leagues now - aphmau doesn't remember her origins as a character. she's fully immersed, and all of the continuities are irrelevant to her. she has to be able to build up great character relationships, right? she has to be serious to do that! besides, a lot has happened, its only fair to say that she has the right to be a little upset.
i think its a wonderful narrative of an optimistic character learning the horrors of humanity and slowly declining from there. that's great! but that's not aphmau.
it seems like a progression of aphmau's character, if you wanted to see it like that.
i don't.
i think the best thing jess could do for aphmau was to continue to embody her. something so face-palming about s1 aphmau was the fact that she did not seem to take ANYTHING seriously at first. obviously, things change, but she'd be dropped some important lore, take it in, and move on as always. no matter how distressing the information seemed to be. yeah, some of her reactions make you think "holy shit aphmau why are you laughing. aphmau. what." but that was her charm!
season 2 eliminates that entirely. aphmau is still learning things but she seems to hang on to them. what's weird is that they jumped 15 years into the future without the irene gang but it feels like aphmau emotinally progressed at least three of them, making her a completely different character. now with all of the love problems kicking off, she begins to take a much more isolated, serious, and quite frankly boring route. no more fun commentary. no more adventure risk-taker.
i'm getting tired and losing focus so i'm going to try and wrap this up.
in season 2 she becomes a lot more selfish in my opinion. i promise i'm going to gather reasons as to why i believe this and i'll attach them at a later date, i just need to do a rewatch first to gather everything. she is less an embodiment of love, and more... admiration, i suppose. she's the woman who did it all. she's not the woman who spreads love anymore. this grows increasingly apparent by how she treats laurance later on. she's wrapped up in her own world. i understand having your own issues and needing to work through them - trust me, i do. but some of the issues she faces don't feel like they belong to her character. if you know what i mean you know, but again, i will attach things later.
in season 3, we're not even looking at a blueprint of the same character. she seems to have aged far beyond her damn years, having a strange holier-than-thou tone and vocabulary. put her next to her s1 character, reskin her, boom no reminisce of what once was.
"but matthew thats how character development works" uh yeah WHEN WE SEE IT. bro she skipped a whole ass 3 years we didnt see jack SHIT, its lazy writing and for that i cannot under any circumstance see her as in-character. she feels so empty. she's just a character being voice acted and brought around so that we can learn mroe about world building at this point. please bring back my girls initial charm
anwyays on soemthing im pretty sure i alluded to earlier, it is still interesting though that she becomes more and more like irene the more she tries to distance herself. irene, who became a stoic who felt no emotion - aphmau isn't like that, but she's defintiely losing the power & strength in her emotions. if jess took this direction in writing, id be more content. but she didnt and now we'll never know LOL
#minecraft dairies#aphverse#aphmau#you... you understand...#i have tried for so long to put into words my issues with her character S2 onwards

I personally think Laurance would've survived. It'd be hard for him to have a convincing death (and stay permanent) and not feel like a copout.
The whole Leona plot line feels superfluous, but if Leona's father was Zane that would impact other surrounding characters like Garroth where that would make him an uncle, or that everyone has to uh... deal with the implications of this plot line.
Irene being a complicated person where she does bad to horrible things would be good if we got any insight into her character that wasn't in regards to her dating life. (honestly the divine warriors as a whole are wasted)
He was probably justifiably angry when it began. Especially if the Irene killing their daughter is true. But now he is just an evil dude as far as the series lore.
Humans with magical powers, and later thanks to the relic humans who are god like.
No. He'd be dead by the end.
I personally don't consider Zane redeemable, he has killed a lot of people just as high priest alone. Made no effort to be a better person or be helpful against Shad. He might live but be under surveillance of some kind.
No comment here.
Connecting MCD and Mystreet was a terrible idea, and I firmly stand by that.
I think Zenix would live. Honestly the fact that we never got any interaction between him and Garroth was such a waste.
Jeffory coming back would be cool. That could give Katelyn and Abby something.
I think the SKs would lose a chuck of their power with Shad defeated, but they would live.
Garrance.
MCD has a way too big cast as is. I can't really even define who's Major and who's Minor if their not Aphmau, Garroth, Laurance, Katelyn, Travis. Even still Katelyn has little to do in series and Garroth and Laurance have all of their screen time dedicated to the love triangle that while a subplot is the least interesting plot they have.
The brothers all had a once loving relationship that quickly grew bitter after Garte's sickness. While Garroth was effectively an older brother who raised Vylad when Zianna couldn't, and they never resented each other. Zane resents them both.
He's alive, and honestly there so much that could be done, it'd be a waste if wasn't ever seen mostly for the members of his family. Like, okay, past S2 with Garroth, Vylad, and Zianna all reunited it would have been interesting to see them all have to reconcile with all that happened and learn how to be a family again after so many years and so many awful things. With Garte, everything that was bad in one way or another comes back to him. Zianna might wish to separate from him. Or Garroth punching him.
S3 was terrible all around, Kenmur dying felt anti-climatic, I didn't feel anything. Honestly S3 belongs in the trash.
I do not care for it. I wish that mystreet had it's own cast away from MCD, due to it. It's probably the biggest reason I hate mystreet.
I really wish that that was brought up again in some way.
I dread Jess' rewrite as it's going to take directions I will hate, and will sour my remaining love for MCD. Apart of me wants it to continue but I can't say I'd like it. I would only want to know what happens S3 to the end, just so I could really sit down develop and finish my own rewrite. Because without the ending in mind I have trouble with the finer details and making the bigger more necessary changes earlier on. Like I know what I would do with S1, S2, and some of S3 (throw most of it out in this last case). But beyond that like...
Minecraft Diaries Focus Questions
Please respond within 150-500 words and reply to at least two of your peers (jk)
These are some questions I have about people’s opinions/predictions/interpretations that I’m really curious about!! Feel free to answer only one, a few, or all if that’s what you want, and answer in anyway (reblog, reply, in the tags)
1. Do you think Laurance would have survived till the end of the series? What do you think his fate would have been if Jess continued? What would you want his fate to be?
2. Do you think Zane is Leona’s father? Would you think it’s a good plot point if he was?
3. Was Irene a good person? Do you think she was justified with her actions?
4. Do you think Shad is as evil as he is believed to be in the series? Do you think he is justified?
5. Do you think the Divine Warriors are gods or just humans with godlike powers? Are they humans who become gods?
6. Do you think Gene would have been redeemed if Jess continued? Would Dante forgive him? Would he forgive Dante? What do you think his fate would have been?
7. Is Zane capable of redemption in some way in your eyes? What do you think his fate would have been?
8. What characters do you think is the relic holder of each Divine Warrior, apart from the known ones? Would you have a different arrangement?
9. Was it a good idea to connect Mystreet and MCD together? Would you have preferred if they stayed separate universes?
10. Why do you think Zenix betrayed Phoenix Drop? Was it the Calling?
11. What would Zenix’s fate have been? What would you have liked it to be? How do you think Garroth and his reunion would have been like?
11. Do you think Jeffory would have come back as a Shadow Knight at some point? Would you have liked it if he did?
12. What do you think would happen to the Shadow Knights after Shad is defeated? Would there be a difference between those that are immortal and those that aren’t?
13. What non-canon ship would you have loved to see, no matter how outlandish or obscure the character(s) are?
14. Is there any major character(s) that you feel is unnecessary to the plot? Is there any minor character(s) that you feel should have played a bigger role?
15. What do you think of the relationships between the Ro’meave brothers? What dynamic would you have liked to see between Vylad and Zane?
16. Do you think Garte is alive? What would you like his fate to be?
17. Do you think Kenmur’s death was a good plot point? Would you have preferred if he stayed alive?
18. What do you think of the personality changes from MCD to Mystreet?
19. They mention Cadenza has magicks that relates to the Nether portals but never really utilize this. What do you wish they had done with this information?
20. Many people have well established rewrites for MCD. Because of this, would you still want Jess to continue MCD, even though it will most likely go in a direction we wouldn’t like? For example, she would most likely focus more on the relationship between Aaron and Aphmau in her rewrite. Would this still be something worth seeing or have you grown content with the unfinished series?
Thank you so much to anyone who answers!
#aphmau#aphmau mcd#aphmau minecraft diaries#reblog#wow this was long#this was also fun to do so thank you#this has even given me food for thought on some things in mcd#i did my best to give an actual answer to each question

Why the 15 time skip doesn’t work
1. It feels like nothing happened
Now that’s not entirely true, a lot did happen. The kid characters became adults. Many other characters moved into new lives.
But it doesn’t really feel like we missed anything. Phoenix Drop returned to where it started practically in S1. And things only started happening when Aph and the gang returned.
Like you’re telling me that O’khasis left phoenix drop alone when the heir of their city and the high priest, who are both the lord/kings sons; suddenly go missing? And no one was sent to check the place out? Or question people there even?
The time skip didn’t even have any real impact on laurance, katelynn, emmalynn, kenmur, garroth, Aaron. It does have some impact on aphmau but nothing that develops or expands on her character.
2. It’s way too long of a time skip
15 years is a really long time. The only time timeskips are that are either one off episodes or next gen sequels that focus on the next generation.
MCD does neither of these. It’s not automatically bad because doesn’t follow either. It’s bad because we’re effectively introduced to the setting and the characters again, with minimal difference, excluding kid characters or new characters (assuming their given any focus, and yes Minecraft diaries has way too many fucking characters that doesn’t do enough with, or contribute to the plot).
Aphmau and the gang have to go from village to village to find allies and maybe solve some mystery at the same time. Same thing as the end of season 1/ 15 years ago.
If you’re curious I’d say somewhere around 5 years give or take, if it was up to me. Just long enough for everyone to move on but short enough not to be forgotten.
And imagine the time skip where phoenix drop wasn’t left in ruin but was build anew. And now everyone returning from the Irene dimension now have to grapple with very different Ru’aun region. Where the entire region has changed.
Just food for thought.

An obvious one would be garroth as a paladin. It just fits too well.
Aphmau would be a light domain cleric.
Zoey would be either a druid or life domain cleric.
Dante would be a fighter.
Katelyn would be either a monk, paladin, or fighter. Or a mix of them.
For shadow knights as a whole it would be obvious to say warlock but I feel certain paladin sub classes would fit as well. Berserker also fits since anger shadow knights emotions.
Plus whatever said shadow knight class would fitting for their old lives if we’re counting that into consideration.
Like Sasha perhaps being a Druid or cleric before making a pact or oath to shad.
Lads come here and give me your DND head cannons for Minecraft diaries characters (race, class, subclass, etc)
I’m thinking too hard and I wanna know what other people think
#minecraft dairies#aphmau#aphverse#I don’t know the ins and outs of dnd but this is what I could put together off the top of my head

God the Ro'Meaves but with a competent writer,,, good/evil brother trope, but things are messy and complicated and—like,,, the Zianna, the "good" mother shares so much with Zane, and Garte the "evil" father shares so much with Garroth, and then Vylad just visibly doesn't fit in.
More Garte/Garroth parallels! Zane who has actual goals and is an actual character instead of cardboard! Zane kills Vylad but Vylad doesn't trust his own memory because he saw what happened to Sasha so he still thinks somewhat highly of Zane!! The dynamics!! The drama!! The arcs!! Garroth learning to overcome his fear of leadership and responsibility, Vylad learning he doesn't need to hold on to others for his sense of morality or purpose!! Zane,,,, being like an inflatable rather than cardboard.
I don't care *that* much about Zane having character, but like, he's such an interesting villian because he's not physically powerful but if you killed him there'd be huge political fallout, and then!! There's!! No!! Political!! Fallout!! when he disappeared?? And like the fact that people claim that he's well loved and respected when everyone we actually meet hates him?
I'm also so mad about S3, for all three of them. Although I do like Vylad being in tu'la looking for Garte because it's kind of a point about how he cares for Zianna and Garroth over himself
Zianna, the "good" mother shares so much with Zane, and Garte the "evil" father shares so much with Garroth, and then Vylad just visibly doesn't fit in.
Yes yes yes! I've always loved this about them. I think it would be interesting if it extended past physical traits, too. Garroth and Garte share a laugh. Zane and Zianna walk the same way. Garroth inherited some of Garte's quiet/stony demeanor (although it presents slightly differently) and Zane took up his mother's habit of singing to himself or others when he wants them to be calm (it's much more menacing coming from him). (also this is purely headcanon, i havent seen MS and i dont know what garte and zianna are like there). And then of course there's Vylad, always the odd one out. Always trailing a few feet behind. Always the third, fourth, final thought. He looks like none of them, acts like none of them. Has a nervous fidget with his hands that his brothers have never struggled with; maybe it's because Vylad's father worked with his. I hc that he was always rather... individualistic, compared to them. Maybe it's because he didn't quite grow up in Garte's shadow, at least not under the expectation to be like him. Always thinking, always something new and abstract where Garroth struggles to break from the mold and Zane only cares for what brings him power. Someone stop me from going on a Vylad hc rant
Ahem. Anyways
Zane who has actual goals and is an actual character instead of cardboard!
Yes! I think he has a lot of potential as a villain that somewhat goes to waste because of his two-dimensional motivations. "He wants power" isn't very... er... deep or realistic. I feel that that in itself requires a motivation. Why does he want power? Does he fear being weak? Does he enjoy being able to hurt or control people? Does he want something in particular that power will allow him to get? Some of these options I like more for him;; I just wish Jess had given us even the slightest hint of a reason for Zane to be so power-hungry. It would have done wonders for the believability of his character (which is already very good, I have to add. Like you say, the political aspect of his villainy is very good and intriguing)
And that point too! WHY WAS THERE NO POLITICAL FALLOUT FROM HIS DEATH? That was the only thing keeping him alive until now! You are NOT going to tell me that was all smokescreens. We know he's the second Prince and the High Priest! That power has to mean something! We saw him wield it! Garroth never spoke up and said "hey he actually isnt as important as he says he is." Nothing suggests there shouldn't be fallout. And honestly, it would have been really neat to compound that with the Tu'la War and Garte's disappearance. We can play a fun game: How Much Political Turmoil Can O'khasis Take Before Garroth Breaks and Comes Back?
God you're so right, Vylad. S3 did everyone a dirty except Dante & his family
also hey. tell me more about that last bit pleeeease i wanna hear all your ro'meave analysis

Ok so for the thing with Vylad outsourcing his moral compass: Vylad had very little to cling on to in the nether besides the thought of Garroth. It makes sense that he idolized him during this timespan.
In addition, Vylad has said he's "not a good person," he's repeatedly made comments about how the nether can get in your head, and he seems to dislike Laurance acting on instinct.
This leads to a situation where Vylad trusts himself very little, and Garroth a whole lot. I don't really have any evidence of him actually doing this, especially because Garroth and Vylad share so little screen time, but because he doubts his own judgement and trusts Garroth unquestioningly (not necessarily his judgement but basically everything else), I've always seen him as backing Garroth whenever there's a big moral choice, rather than listening to himself.
oooouuh this is so good. especially when you consider how indecisive and hesitant garroth is when it comes to responsibility or leading anyone. He sees himself as better suited to follow and enforce the will of another than to rule himself; so how should he feel when Vylad follows him? He came to Phoenix Drop to avoid the responsibility of making decisions for other people.
I'm starting to think Zane stole all the willpower in the womb and that's the real reason he's Like That

idk how to properly write my thoughts on this. but the problem with Garroth as hes written in MCD is that the plot cannot decide whether he’s supposed to be a hero or a villain. genuinely they did so much interesting stuff with him but then got scared of writing him as a complex character at the last minute.
Like him being blinded by his jealousy over Aphmau, slowly building up over the ENTIRE SEASON, feeling entitled to her love simply because he’s known her the longest? its INTERESTING its such an interesting concept to go with. Its a really interesting direction to take a character who’s basically been the White Knight™ up until that moment, its an amazing deconstruction on the typical romance plotline, especially in a fantasy setting.
The problem starts when the series remembers that Garroth is supposed to be a protagonist, and they don’t know how to redeem him from there. In theory, Garroth staying behind to fend off Zane is the right step towards redemption, but it also makes it harder for him to do literally anything else. How is he supposed to make up for what he’s done when he is indefinitely cut off from the people he has wronged?

It's so frustrating because I hate Aaron for being a complete wreaking ball to the story. (And because he was a mysterious forest man with questionable morals back when Vylad was stuck in the nether so I was worried he was replacing him but that's more personal) But the more I think about it, the more Aaron as a character is,,,, I don't know. I'm still reluctant to call him good, but he makes me angry at Jess, not angry at him, and I'm realizing that now.
I mean, it's kind of trope-y but having that sort of an anti-hero with an arc centered around grief and recovery and revenge, and him sometimes having conflicting morals with some of the rest of the group could be really cool! (and also different from Vylad, with Vylad basically putting his moral compass into Garroth's hands, which is its own issue as he can actually have a more nuanced, complex, and compassiate view but I digress) And a really cool way to show that Aphmau as a character is not inherently perfect and sometimes there's not a solution that pleases everyone.
But no. Of course not. Once he trusts Aphmau they really never have any real fights I can recall, and his wife, son, and everyone he cared about are mentioned only in passing instead of being a longer arc. And of course there's the whole romance between them which ends up just scrapping all of the previous narrative build-up with Garroth/Laurance. Once again, not a bad thing for the character, necessary, (although arguably she could've handled it better, she isn't obligated to like or date anyone of course) but narratively, it just felt like so much of the momentum was dropped the second he came into frame.
Like how do I say that I think Aaron as a man is interesting and I think that his traits and backstory could make for a really good character, but I also lothe him as a symbol of Jess's incompetent writing?
gods vylad youre so right about all of this
1 - "wrecking ball to the story" is the PERFECT way to describe him. he didnt fit, and when he was forced in he destroyed a good chunk of the story to make room
2 - thats what's so frustrating about him! though he's a bit basic, he certainly could have had something. with a bit of good writing he could have been wrestled into a character that was at least up to par with the rest of the cast. but no; he wasn't there to be a good character. he was there to be jason's self-insert and to spite larmau and garmau fans.
3 - side note--i want to hear your thoughts about vylad putting his moral compass into garroth's hands, that sounds very interesting
4 - yeah! unless jess decided to write her endgame relationship as a polyamorous one (and lets be real, nobody ever does :/), somebody's feelings were gonna get hurt. and narratively, thats ok. that makes for a good story + thats exactly how it works in real life. to have aphmau choose one or neither or both, any of those would have made for a good story, but having aaron come in and wreck everything that was being set up? no. he prevented there from being any good payoff with larmau & garmau and instead we just got them sulking in the background.
5 - i hate the fact that hes still in love with his wife but its only mentioned to make him seem more tragic, and then he turns around and knocks up aph in the woods. thats no healthy relationship, luv. and that would be ok, except that its constantly portrayed as the pinnacle of healthy, and theres no exploring anything about the repercussions of aaron seeing aphmau as a replacement for her, or anything like that. it just. isnt satisfying writing in the slightest. (i dont watch mystreet, but i hear this is an issue with ms!aaron too.) (actually i heard somewhere that aarmau was based on jess and jason's actual marriage and that makes me slightly concerned. on several fronts)
6 - laur and garroth were dropped entirely after aaron came into the picture, not just romantically. this is probably what makes me the most angry, because garroth is my favorite and laurance is definitely up there. and garroth could have had such a wonderful arc in o'khasis in season three, but jess just had to relegate him to babysitting duty all season.

Look MCD and mystreet weren’t originally meant to connect.
Mystreet was initially a fun side series that had nothing to do with mcd and honestly it should have stayed that way.
MCD and Mystreet connecting with each other doesn’t work the more I think about and it’s something I personally have never liked.
Hot-take Timeline
okay so just a note: the title might not really match, I just liked it because hot-Take Timeline… two T words… yes I’m weird I’m sorry.
UH secondly i curse so.
/ / /
alright so. What the fuck is the timeline for Aphverse? Honestly. What’s the general idea of an event order? Does it match the actual event order (y’know, event A happened and then era B and blah blah blah)? Because if so, where does MCD fall in that order?
I know MCD is obviously for medieval-esque, but also like. Garte and Zianna are royalty. Why are there NO records or paintings or ANYTHING from him? Unless MCD would end implying everything mentioning their existence was destroyed (which I think would be a little lazy) I don’t see how NO ONE would be like “yo isn’t it crazy your dad looks just like that old king from like forever ago? They even have the same names… and wife-”
like GHBFJ BARK. Oh how I wish we’d get MCD/MCDR back. So many missing things that don’t make sense. I will try my best to fix them.

Aphmau MCD Origin Idea
Okay so personally I’m not a fan of the “Aphmau is (the reincarnation) of Irene”. Mostly because it’s just kinda boring to me, but also some stuff is just weird to me gbhfgbh. Like Irene exists beside Aphmau in my eyes if that makes sense to anyone.
ANYWHO.
So we know Irene had other family, since Levin is descendant from her bloodline and I think Irene only had one child. SO in my HC MCD, Irene had a sister named Eris. Eris is EXTREMELY jealous of Irene’s success and grows bitter. Everything she does is overshadowed by her. When she gives birth to Aphmau, she decides that if she can’t be better than her sister, her daughter will be.
From the very moment Aphmau’s born, her mother puts her in the very best education system she can in the entire region. She has the best of the best train her in many things- swordhandling, hand-to-hand combat, sewing, cooking, writing + reading, climbing, animal-handling, etc.
Aphmau is considered a prodigy. She manages to handle everything her mother throws at her and probably rises politically very quickly. Even so, she can’t outmatch Irene, and so Eris is still unhappy.
It’s hopeless, really. Before Shad’s banishment he destroys the city/kingdom/whatever Irene and her family lives in, killing almost all of the people. Eris is one of many, and Aphmau never has a chance to truly make her happy (it was a fruitless effort. Eris wouldn’t be happy. Even if Irene had keeled over, I think she would have seen Aphmau as her next enemy).
I’ll simplify what happens afterwards because… meh. Irene finds Aphmau and “blesses” her, giving her her black markings, and traps her in a staff. Irene gives the staff to Hyria, tells her to place it somewhere she’s needed, and disappears to her realm.
TL;DR: Irene had a sister named Eris. Eris had Aphmau. Eris dies. Irene binds her soul to Aphmau’s (which gives her the black markings. It makes her aura stick out) and traps her in the staff we see in Ep.1 of MCDR.
So yeah gbfg. This backstory would play into her people-pleasing nature and borderline-panic whenever someone’s unhappy. Probably also plays into more stuff but… I haven’t thought that far lol.

As soon as someone gives me an excuse to talk about Zenix’s backstory & powers in my rewrite, I’m gonna do it.
