Her full name is Caoileann (pronounced Kay-lin) Dubois, she and Brendan are twins and so they each insist that they are the older one while the other is the younger. They grew up in Brightport, although they do have a Grandmother who was born in Tu'La. and Her Magicks being able to speak to animals was influenced by the werewolf genes in her family making it so she could actually hear words instead of just general feelings, however she doesn't display any other traits in contrast to her daughter

So I'm thinking about Laurance again-

Mostly his blindness.

I choose to think he has something akin to Diabetic Retinopathy. Basically, it's blurry vision with dark spots.

When Ungrth pulls him out of the nether, I think he's fully blind. Full stop. The blood vessels in his eyes are shot. Aphmau getting Irene's blessing mends some of them, but he's still very visually impaired.

Laurance spends the next several months re-learning how to navigate the world with blurry, spotty vision.
