Thinking I really need to do some more bonnets! These are so adorable in baby photoshoots and they’re so soft, chunky and warm! I think the barley gold shade would be perfect for boys or girls!

Definitely one of my favourite makes to date! I set out making this as my first proper “lovey” for Etsy and thought it would be a great way to practice my amigurumi and use up some acrylic. Boy-oh-boy was I blown away with how cute she came out when she was done! I’ve only done one other since - an adorable grey mouse - but this definitely makes me think I need to get on it with some more colours and animals!

I keep telling myself if I keep practicing my knitting, I’ll be making things like this one day. Sometimes I’m pretty confident I’ll NEVER be this good at knitting, but at the same time there was once a day when I thought I’d never be that good at crochet either! Nowadays, I just need to see a photo of the piece and I can work it out! So here’s to practice, and hopefully I’ll be parading around in shawls like this in no time at all!

Just uploaded this adorable baby chick hat to Etsy! I’ve developed a bad habit of being late to the holiday parties with my makes, and wanted to make a head-start on some bright and cheerful pieces for Easter!

Mustards and gold are my THING right now! I’ve been practicing knitting a little every night (making a mustard-gold shawl, incidentally) and this hat just speaks to me! There’s something about knitting that is so sultry and moody compared to crochet’s signature bubbly and cheerful persona.

Currently on my needles:
Constellate hat from Hunter Hammersun (available on Ravelry in an ebook) in Hedgehog Fibres Sock in Pollen.
The wonderful texture comes from making loops in rows below the active stitches.  It makes a nice challenge, though it’s not too difficult.  Keeping tension even is probably the hardest thing.  But I’m loving how it’s turning out and it’s a nice engaging project.

Is this not the cutest little rubber stamp? Definitely going into my cart next payday to add a little something to my orders!  I don’t know about everyone else, but packaging excites me almost as much as the contents. I guess I know if someone has taken the time to carefully package my item(s) with love, I’m confident the item will be just as good, if not better!

Currently what I’m working on in the Lemoncakes house. A plain, neutral-coloured baby blanket that I’m hoping to have completed and listed on Etsy by tomorrow afternoon. Will I get it done on time? Well, I’d like to be optimistic but probably not - kids are off school for mid-term as of 2pm today (GMT) and I am a mammy first!
