( Rᴇᴠᴇɴɢᴇ ) Aʀᴅʏɴ Iᴢᴜɴɪᴀ

What if Ardyn’s entire plot was never about revenge but rather solely to bring about an end to his own suffering, to the scourge, to everything that his existence had made wrong with the world? What if Ardyn made himself into the monster he needed to be to drive Noctis to do what needed to be done? Think about it: from the first he leads Noctis into his birthright and yes, he says that it’s because it would be no good to have his vengeance on a King who lacks his true power. But…he had every opportunity to have the vengeance he said he so desired on Noctis and the people closest to him, and he didn’t take it, except where it was necessary to spur Noctis further onward when the Prince might otherwise have given up. ( After the battle with Leviathan, I could honestly see Noctis gathering Luna and deciding it was too dangerous to press onward to the Glacian and the Infernian; he’d been waffling about what to do when he finally saw her again, and we saw him stuck on the thought that maybe all he needed was to live happily with her; I pose that if she had remained at his side, there’s a very high likelihood he would have abandoned his quest altogether in her favor. And, in Prompto’s case, there was no way to drag Noctis to the Crystal without sufficient leverage but you’ll notice though that Prompto was (for the most) unharmed when Noctis came to collect him, the same way that Ardyn did not kill Noctis’ friends before the final battle, but rather incapacitated them to keep them from interfering - Ardyn only killed those he needed to to make his own death a reality.)

And then that final battle - I swear when I was playing, there was a distinct point where it felt like Ardyn had given up. He wasn’t some pacing predator looking to needle at Noct’s weaknesses. Just a tired man testing Noctis’ resolve to kill him, who had set up every domino from the first to breed the kind of animosity necessary to lead a man to sacrifice himself and take the life of another because he knew the weight of the Chosen’s curse and damn it all, after everything, all these long years he’d spent warring with himself and his darkness, he couldn’t afford to have the Prince wavering at the last of it.

Just so we’re clear, however - I’m not defending his actions. I’m not saying he’s some cinnamon roll or hell, even a good person, or pulling the he didn’t know what he was doing card - he clearly did.  He had a plan from the first. I’m just posing that, at least from my perspective, there are too many inconsistencies between his words and his actions for me to believe that revenge was what he was truly scheming at.

I’m really sorry I have been inactive for so long, I do have a lot of exams, and probably will be more inactive, but the gladio headcanons will come soon, I promise. Anyway, this is a scenario based on one of my headcanons of nyx. Sorry if it isn’t good, I’m just practising a little, so I will probably modify some things later.

Looking for something?

“This is a very famous shop, a lot of wealthy people come here. I trust you and I hope you will do a good job. Don’t let me down or you will be fired.” Those words were the only thing that came to your mind all over again. Those words that the owner told you when you signed the contract.

But where were all these poeple he talked about? You have been behind the counter for hours, just looking at the door, and not even a single soul appeared outside the shop, less came inside the it. You already organized the shelves, with the ancient relics and other spiritual stuff that was there, at least 5 times, and that was nothing compared with the boredom that you had.

You were really excited of finding a job, a supposedly cool and busy one for which you practised a lot..But this? You growled in annoyance. As I finish my turn I really have to complain or I will die here. You headed, mumbling to yourself without noticing, to reorganize and clean everything again, maybe kill some time. You were starting as you heard the door open, something you thought you weren’t going to hear while working here.

It may be him, he may have come to check on me. You relaxed as much as you could This is my chance. you said to yourself and put on a big smile changing the tense face you had, you didn’t want to lose your only job, though.

It soon faded away as you turned to face the door and saw a young man entering instead, holding a jacket over his shoulder. Wait, a young man? In an relics store? you said to yourself assimilating it. All these hours you have been waiting for an old rich man and this is the first person you see entering the shop?

You came back from your thoughts, seeing the young man heading to the shelves you were in. Well, he is a client after all. You put on that big smile again and greeted him. “Good afternoon, sir.”                                                            He looked a bit distracted to where you were standing, with just a slight smile and a “Good afternoon.” in response. No way, he didn’t notice me until now? You thought watching him as he continued to where he was heading, stopping in front of a shelf where there were some ‘cursed figures’.

Still a bit confused, you let him alone for some minutes, looking over to him from time to time from the counter.

You looked at the clock, 15 minutes.

He is just taking things and putting them back! you thought while you watched him do it again. There wasn’t mirrors in there, but you could imagine the face you were doing right now, a face that could only be described as ‘what the hell’.

Maybe he is looking for something concrete? Ugh, you said as you sighed and remembered something you read while studying for the job ‘Some people wait for the dependants to approach them and help them so that they don’t have to bother.’ was it, or something like that. You should have asked him from the beginning, you idiot. You looked at him a bit discretely over your shoulder...he was still doing it...

You moved your head side to side trying to ignore it, breathed out and walked over to him.

“Excuse me, sir. Are you looking for something concrete?” You said, more kindly that you thought it would be, well, the most thing you practised for was controlling your anger.                                                                                      He turned around to look at you, still looking a bit distracted. You waited for his response, maybe you were actually going to work after an entire day doing nothing.

“No, thank you. I’m just looking.”

What.

He went to the other side of the store, you followed him with the eyes. He can’t be serious..is he?

You could feel your body heating, your salary depends of what you sell which you hadn’t done yet, you were bored, and even tired of standing, there wasn’t even a chair!  and then this man appears and worsens everything.

That’s it, just when you thought you could take it and control yourself, you are going to burst out.

Without thinking, you started walking in his direction, stopping him before he could even get to the other side. You looked at his face, looking confused and then just exploded.

“Look, sir, you can’t just be looking around for almost thirty minutes, touching everything as you like. You are just disordering the things that I have been taking care of since I woke up, and that I will have to order again because of you.” You said too fast, you could notice that your breathing was heavier. And he was standing there. With the same face. Did he even understood what I said?                                                                                                                    You tried to relax a bit and vocalize this time, be kind like before. “I’m sorry, but If you aren’t going to buy anything, I must ask you to leav-”

You heard the door open again, you moved your head to the side ignoring him, seeing an old man entering this time. Yes! The old wealthy man that I was waiting! Someone who is going to actually buy, I hope.

Smiling again, a smile that at this rate must look like the most false and creepiest smile that this man has ever seen, You approached him as fast as you could. “Good morning sir, do you need something?”

“Yes, that’s why I’m here. I come for a pack of little statues representing the Astrals that also come with some incense.” The old man said, in a deep, mean way.

Great. Was the only thing you could think. Even so you tried not to look rude.                                                                                                                    “Right now, sir. Just wait here, I will bring it.” Ah, the good thing about spending so much time in those shelves, I know where is everything by memory.

Excited, you went directly to where the incense was. You removed some things searching for the special pack. Where the hell is it, it should be here...        Laying the head in the corner of the shelf you just disordered, you looked out of the corner of your eye to the old man, who looked impatient. You sighed while incorporating your body from the shelf. Fucking great. You headed to the entrance where the old man..and the young man were. I can’t believe he is still here!

“Then, where is the pack?” Alright, good start...

“I‘m sorry.. but we don’t have more available astrals packs..you could reserve it, or maybe come anoth-”                                                                                      

“I already reserved it.” He interrupted, really emphasizing the ‘already’. This can’t be happening to me.                                                                                 

“Maybe you didn’t really reserve it?“

“Of course I reserved it! I may be old but I’m not stupid! Go and look again, you should have missed it.” He said and you could tell in his face that his anger was growing.

“Sir, I already looked over everything on the incense shelf and there was nothing..” You said while swallowing.

“I said look again. Look on another place if it’s necessary.”

You moved on to search in other shelves, hessitating at first. Maybe he was right and I placed it on another place accidentally, though. You passed beside them various times, until you stopped in front of them again, after finishing searching all over the store.

You felt like you couldn’t even say anything, you swallowed again so that you could pronounce something. “As I said, the packs are sold out.” and before he could interrupt you again, you nervously tried to make it up for it. “I swear I will talk to the owner and I will bring it to your house If it’s necessary. We don’t usually do it but It will be an exception. Again, I’m really sorry. I hope you can understand.” You let out the breath you were containing as discretely as you could.

There was a really tense silence for some minutes, you were looking at the floor, looking more anxious than angry now. When the old man started talking again and you couldn’t help but to raise your head brusquely.

“I want to submit a complaint. Bring me the file to fill it out.” He said serious and more calmly than before.

“E-excuse me, sir? A complaint?” You were blinking repeatedly, not believing what was happening.

Just when the old man was about to explode again, someone put a hand on his shoulder.

No way.

“Excuse me.” The young man said to him. The old man turned around to face him, blinking as repeatedly as you were. “I think you should calm down a bit.”

“And just who are you to tell me what I have to do?” Just what I needed. My first fight between clients.

“My name is Nyx ulric. And I think the complaint is unnecessary. They already told you that they are going to deliver the pack specifically for you, even though they don’t have to. I think you should put yourself together and stop making a scene.” He said like it was nothing. And surprisingly, he got to shut up the old man, who was even pretty uncomfortable.

“Alright. I will leave my adress and I will wait for it. I expect you to not make more mistakes, or I will end submiting that complaint.” He said fixing his hair and clothes, and then he went out without saying goodbye.

You turned to look at the man. Who turned to look at you too. There was another silence for some seconds. After you told him all those things, he still covered you up. You couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty.

“Look. I’m really sorry for my behavior before. It was a rough day, and ended rougher than I expected..The thing is that, well, I mean it’s true that you can’t just touch everything like that but..” He chuckled a bit awkwardly. Which surprised you.

“Apologizing is not your thing, right?” You stayed silent. “Don’t worry, I understand everything. Most of the people tell me the same. I’m sorry too.”

He does the same thing everywhere, this is just amazing...But the more you thought about it, the funnier it actually was.                                                     You sighed again, slighly smilING at the whole situation. You looked at him again, seeing that he was smiling too. And then you started to analyze him more carefully.

He IS pretty handsome..

“Nyx..was it, right?” He nodded without saying anything. “My name is (Y/N), I didn’t present myself yet, I think.” He nodded again smiling. “No, you didn’t.” I’m already regretting this..

“Well, I don’t think my apologize was good enough.. so why don’t I invite you to something?” You finally let it out.

“Yeah, sure, why not. I got a place I frequent and that I like, I hope you like it too.” He replied with a smirk after some time thinking about it.

Thanks god. “Can’t wait to see it, then.” You say with a smile, trying to dissimulate.

Final Fantasy XV’s DLC Order Explained; Episode Ignis Will Be Last Due to Story Impact

If you have been wondering why Final Fantasy XV’s Episode Ignis DLC will come last among the three “bros,” Hajime Tabata revealed the reason.

When Square Enix announced the release date of Final Fantasy XV‘s DLCs Episode Gladio and the release window for Episode Prompto, many were surprised by the fact that Episode Ignis was left for last.

Director Hajime Tabata told DualShockers the reason for the order of the episodes dedicated to the three “bros” during a recent conversation at Square Enix’s headquarters in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Turns out that Episode Gladio has always been planned as the first DLC, as the team intends to deliver enhanced action battle game play for it.

On the other hand, they have been debating internally on which one among Prompto and Ignis should come second. Ultimately, they opted to have Ignis as the protagonist of the last of the bro-focused DLCs, because what happens in his episode has a large impact on the story of Final Fantasy XV, and they want to have the time to create a really solid experience, pretty much keeping the best for last.

Luche: Headcanons.

-He is a shopaholic, thing he sees, thing he has to buy. He really likes to be trendy and to have the best things due to him being a bit -too much- spoiled when he was little, he was and is that kind of kid who looks super posh but actually isn’t. If he is dating someone, he would like them to be the same, he would buy them A LOT of things. If his s/o makes eye-contact with something, the moment they look to another way, he has already bought it.

-He is the top dramatic queen.

-We know he is a party pooper, but it is excessive, pretty much because he complains about EVERYTHING, he is bothered really easily, and gets angry easily too, the persons around him are the ones who suffer the consequences though.

-But the thing that really makes him explode is when someone doesn’t agree with him. He is pretty smart and a facts nerd, so when he says something and someone contradicts him, prepare to die, because he knows thinks he is right. When he gets nervous discussing is actually cute, he would turn into a tomato. Deep inside he is a softie though, if the person he is discussing with is important to him, like his s/o, he would end saying sorry a lot of times, sometimes doing things like buying them MORE things, giving them kisses all the time..that kind of things.

-Talking about giving kisses, he loves to get all his s/o’s attention, which is sometimes a bit toxic, but if his s/o tells him that he is being too exaggerated, he would stop and give them all the space they need.

It’s a detailed theory about Pitioss Ruins (which I haven’t done since I’m lazy) that involves Ifrit, Eos, and the origin of the line of Lucis. Really well thought-out and it explains a lot of stuff! If this guy is right and this is what Tabata and team have intended all along, it would be AWESOME.

I'd ship you with Prompto and Cindy: -They would love your freckles, your eyes and your hair, they would think you are a nymph or something like that. -The two of them have been through a lot, they have insecurities too, they know how you feel, they understand you and would know how to make you feel better but they'd also know when to give you space and not force things too much. -They really like your fighting attitude, they are very proud of you, especially Cindy, she loves a girl who knows how to put a fight, she even would practice with you. They would take you to special events about kick boxing, they know about your anxiety though, so they wouldn't push you too hard and spend time with you if you need it at home, prompto would really get excited because he is a real nerd when it comes to video games. -Prompto and Cindy put much effort in their photographs/the garage, and would love to see that you have a hobbie that fills you and in which you put so much effort too, as with the fighting attitude, they are very proud, you would exchange your art with promptos photographs, looking what you two can improve. And you sometimes will draw Cindy while she is working, maybe you can even use your drawing skills in cars too. -When you have insomnia, they would try to help you, humming you a slow song, hugging you while massaging your long hair, everything they can think of. -Inside of them, they are kind into metal too, not as much as you do probably, but they won't hesitate to take you to a concert, they would feel really happy to look at You enjoying it so much, maybe seeing another side of you.

I’m bored and working on ask now, but I was wondering who do you guys ship me with from FFXV (doesn’t have to be the main four) and yeah I know, I did this awhile back, but there are more followers now, and I’m gonna be a bit more detailed I guess this time around? Anyways here it is!

I’m female and bi, tend to lean towards guys more often but I like girls too! Short, around 5'3-5'4. Chubby with lots of strech marks (which I’m super insecure about). I’m super pale, like sickly pale, basically to the point where people mistake me for being ill when I’m really not. I have lots of freckles, grey eyes and long, curly, red/brown hair. I have a very “fight me” attitude and practice kick boxing and self defense quite often, but at the same time I’m super shy and often have a hard time finding my voice when trying to speak to people. I have very bad social anxiety so I don’t leave my home alot, so I’ve become very much of a introvert. I play video games in my spare time, usually fantasy based games. I also am into art, I draw and paint alot and I’m hoping I can major in it! I’m sorta goth I guess? I wear alot of dark makeup and clothes, I listen to metal and go to concerts alot (mosh pits ftw). I nap too much but also have insomnia so???? But yeah I guess thats it! Now im gonna go back to answering ask!

Do you have more headcanons for nyx?

Nyx: Headcanons.

-He loves animated tv shows/movies for kids, he laughs really hard with them, sometimes he just stops and thinks “Why do I like this so much?” and after one minute he would just go like “But it is really funny.” and continue watching them.

-He is that kind of person to go to shops just to spend hours looking things and then just leave without buying anything. The worst thing is that after some days he will come to the same shops and do the same thing, while the dependants give him a really bad look, wearing a fake smile.

-He loves going out while raining, he loves the smell of it, the atmosphere, he loves the rain in general.

-When he has nothing to do in his house, he will play some old music and dance to it while humming the songs. He also sings sometimes in the shower even though he doesn’t like to admit it.

-His favourite thing is to stare at the ceiling in his bed, at the tv while it is off, or the photos from galahad, with just silence in the background, with a bottle in his hand..it relaxes him more than anything, though not for a long time to not overthink.

I’ll try to do some, we don’t have much info about him though, so sorry if they aren’t good enough.

Loqi: General Headcanons.

-He practises speechs in front of mirrors just in case he encounters cor, he gets really into it, as if cor himself is the mirror. Some of his partners happened to pass by one day, since then he can’t look at his partners’ faces.

-He spends a lot doing his hair and looking at himself in the mirror too, practising different faces and different poses, he doesn’t use them though, he isn’t usually around people and if he gets to be around someone, he just can’t even bring himself to get closer to them.

-He really respects Caligo, who was the one that got Loqi into a magitec armor. He always talks highly of him to everyone, saying he is much better and stronger than Cor.

-Loqi loves to get into his magitec armor and just destroy things, but he does it inside the imperial fortress, which is why his superiors prohibited him to play with it. He still uses it inside, but he imagines the enemies and while he is attacking them, he does the sound effects himself.

-If he is not using his magitec armor, he is usually playing tricks to the magitec soldiers when he is bored.

Tragedy of Ignis

I feel like I already have a post like that. Well I’ll have two then. But you know what’s really sad? Ignis is a function character. It’s not me shitting on the story, there are actual real life people who live like that, molding all their lives around someone else. Typical thing for mothers, maybe that’s one of the reasons why fandom thinks about him as a mom-friend despite the fact that he is adventurous pun master dork. But really all his life since the early childhood was dedicated sorely to Noctis. There are Gladio and Luna who are quite literally live for Noctis to fulfill his role but still, Luna has her oracle shebang, Gladio expresses characteristics that has nothing to do to Noctis: he loves his sister, likes reading, hiking, getting stronger, even those cup noodles. 

Every habit or quality Ignis exhibits is there for Noctis. He may enjoy cooking but he got into it to lift the prince’s spirits after the Tenebrae attack. His knowledge, his manners, his skills at fight all were developed to guide a young king to his fullest potential. And not once he shows even a trace of resentment toward Noct, even having every right, even after this quest leaves him fucking blind. The depth of his devotion and selflessness is truly mind-boggling. 

And the saddest part? It’s all for nothing. He dedicated every second of his life to make Noctis a perfect ruler he never meant to be. 

King Regis never pressed his son to be a great leader because he won’t be, it was good enough if he lived happily for those short years he had. But Ignis didn’t get the memo so he kept on trying.  

I mean even the fact that each bro gets an episode to dive into their character, lives and motivations exclude Ignis. Because “his” episode is still emotionally Noct’s story of coming to terms with his father’s mortality and his own role as an heir.

Chocobros: General headcanons.

-Most of the poeple think Ignis has vision problems, but actually Gladio is the one with little vision problems. It has never affected his work but he was recommended to wear glasses to read when he was younger, thing he has never done. He has always thought it wasn’t that important, and that’s the reason why he sometimes reads way too close to the books.

-Gladio and Prompto prefer showers, being Gladio the one who takes the longest showering, it’s his only relaxing time and he is not giving it up. Prompto likes to sing and dance in the shower and he has fallen various times doing so. Ignis and Noctis prefer baths, being noctis the one who takes the longest baths he just falls asleep. For Ignis, it’s his relaxing time too, he likes to use bath bombs with perfumes so that it has more effect, though being the one with the most responsibilities, he can’t afford to spent much time in it as gladio.

-Prompto often asks the boys what they would like him to take more photos of, but some days he lets them take the camera and do the photos themselves he has even teached them. Surprisingly, Noctis is the best at it, he often takes photos of the boys, umbra and other animals cats. Ignis spends much time getting the perfect angle and lightning, so he ends taking pretty decent photos, mostly about food and important places. Gladio is the worst, all his photos are horrible, blurry photos of nature, he would just go and take photos of a little tree, prompto can’t even bring himself to delete them because gladio thinks they are good, that he is good at it. One time he took photos of some flowers for iris, she couldn’t even tell that they were flowers.

-When going shopping, Noctis is the one who complains the most, he gets bored easily and although Prompto likes to go shopping, he only likes to go shopping for himself or for cindy, as soon as he gets what he wants, he joins noctis. Gladio and Ignis are the ones who love go shopping, the could stay there for hours, gladio mostly looks for clothes and weapons, while ignis looks for necessary things and ingredients.

-Gladio is really heat-sensitive and sweats a lot, especially at night, it doesn’t matter if it’s raining. So sometimes he can’t sleep very well, he wakes up at midnight and takes long walks, maybe trains a bit until he feels refreshed. When he comes back, Ignis is usually already up making breakfast, and he always tries to help him.

-Gladio is kind of obsessed with cars, he doesn’t really like driving them, but likes to see strange cars, with different colors..etc. He is the first one to always propose to change the regalia, and spends a lot talking with cindy about details until he is convinced. When he is convinced, he would ask noctis, who would not care much, but at the end all of them would be surprised and happy with the results, he always makes the regalia look super cool.

Glaives: General Headcanons.

-Nyx’s braids come from a galahad trend before everything happened. His sister did them to him wanting his brother to be trendy and to have luck with flirting, though they were really uncomfortable for him and undid them as fast as he could. She would do them to Libertus too, saying he didn’t like them, but would actually love them. After some years of coming to Insomnia and finishing the glaives training, Libertus and later, nyx, would start doing them to themselves in remind of nyx’s sister, they even feel weird without them now. Libertus has always done them perfectly, nyx has some trouble though, but when he does one well, he feels pretty proud.

-They don’t usually do it, but when neither Libertus, nor Nyx want to go out, they would go to each others houses and talk about galahad, about good memories only: how Nyx was and is really bad with people and work, how Libertus was always in trouble, just having a relaxing conversation and laughing.

-They do this too with Crowe and Pelna too, but about their good memories at Insomnia, about their glaives training, teasing each other and maybe making some fun of drautos.

-Nyx at first didn’t like the idea of being a glaive at all, he wouldn’t put effort and was actually pretty lazy about it, he wouldn’t think he was good enough to do it because of the trauma of not saving his family. The others and superiors would push him hard seeing potential in him and as time passed he started to become interested and to think it was the only way to do honor to his family/sister. He started to be the best one, along Crowe. But due to the others pushing him and believing in him, he developed that idea of being the hero of everyone, not wanting to let down anybody who had high expectations of him again.

-Drautos was the only one who did not put high expectations on nyx, he was really hard on him but not in the same way, he would train him when he started to put more effort in the training and they actually had a great relationship.

-Luche is actually pretty flirtatious, acts like a playboy when trying to flirt, or at least he tries, but at the moment of truth he is way too awkward and gets really frustrated when they run away.
