Musicals about American history are so goated
#just saw assassins and omg it was so fire#and I got in for free!! insane!!#the theatre was so packed they had to pull out extra chairs to seat everyone#I'd never heard anything about it before but it was so cool and all of the songs I think were both catchy and well done#my favorite was “Unworthy of Your Love” because it is just so fucking uncomfortable in a way that actually makes me feel sorry for them#“How I Saved Roosevelt” was also pretty fire though#skimmming the Wikipedia I'm certain the production I saw had a much different framing than the original (ex: Proprietor was a drag queen)#but I think it was great and honestly I felt a sinking feeling everytime someone died even though I hate them#I'm going to listen to a cast recording to see any differences before I go out here recommending it to people#but yeah Assassins was great 10/10 way to find out about people trying to kill the president and (occasionally) succeeding#aaand post
