If you like occult Sims, darker stories, rich lore, and characters who can't communicate with each other for shit, you might like this Sims story!

Divided is a story that is nearly finished. It currently stands at about 110 chapters approx. I estimate that the story will finish at about 120-125 chapters, but no guarantees as of yet.

It's written in a 'typical' prose style, and set in a vaguely-historical period 300 years before the 'present day' of the story universe. It's a mess in terms of time period that takes inspiration from multiple time periods, taking inspiration from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries especially.

The story is set during a time of a witch-hunt mostly figureheaded by draconian Tartosan noble Lord Volpe. It follows multiple POVs including young witch and the eventual first Sage, Áine (the premade Tess Dyer), Peteran priest Reynold, arcane saleswoman Katlego, the eccentric vampire Oskar, the well-renowned and feared physician Owen, and many others. It is a story mostly about unity, division, family, friendship, and faith, and features a cast full of morally-messed-up characters who eventually come together to try and get rid of the influence of Volpe and his witchfinders - but it is easier said than done.

7. How do you create/style your sims in CAS?

It's a lot of throwing random stuff until it sticks, tbh. And a lot of being finicky about eyes. I'm real pedantic about a sims eyes over anything else. Maybe chins? I love to give sims a colour theme based on things they may like, and clothing styles based on things they would find comfortable, or need to wear. For some reason I always put nancy landgrabb in a pair of jeans, cowboy boots and a white button up because it just...works?

11. What type of pack are you hoping they make next?

Honestly i'm hoping they let this dumpster fire die. But if I could get any pack i'd like something we have never seen before in a sims game. I could also say I want fairies and bands, but I'd love to see something new and unique and not recycled from other games!

30. What’s your favourite thing to do in the game?

scream at broken mods I love my low key relaxed saves, but I get bored so quickly. I honestly don't know what I enjoy doing in the game much anymore.

"As storytellers, there are so many pieces of our craft and I'm curious how you would rank each step of the process. Rank each of the following on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 lowest, 5 highest): Setting up the scene (building sets, decorating, etc), Posing the sims (creating / find poses, and setting up the sims), Styling the sims (cc hunting, time spent in cas), Writing the dialogue/story, Editing the photos. Send to three other story simblrs and get to know more about each others favorite and least favorite part of this crazy process!"

Gonna put my answer below the cut bc it's a little long.

Setting up the scene – 🌟🌟🌟🌟

There’s something really cathartic about building — I genuinely enjoy it, especially when it flows. But it can get frustrating when I’ve written a scene that hinges on a specific piece and I just can’t find it. I had a moment like that recently in When the Light Comes In — I needed melon bread, and it was like it didn’t exist. (I did eventually find two versions, but it left me frazzled!) That said, when everything does come together, it’s super rewarding.

Posing the Sims – 🌟

Absolutely hate this. Finding poses? Easy enough. Making poses? Doable, a little tricky. But watching Sims pop out of position mid-scene? A nightmare. Every time someone launches out of their chair or resets while I’m lining up a shot, a little piece of my soul crumbles. It’s the most rage-inducing part of the process for me, hands down. TOOL makes it easier though.

Styling the Sims –🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love this part maybe a little too much. I’ll spend hours tweaking a Sim’s look to get everything just right — and I’m constantly downloading new CC, especially when a character has a specific aesthetic or I’m aiming for the perfect vibe. I had like seven different uniforms lined up for When the Light Comes In and still defaulted to the Copperdale Set by CloudCat because it just sat right. That said, a lot of my stories have stalled after CAS — not because I hate writing, but because my brain goes, “Well, we made the Sims. Mission accomplished.” Also, I still love a good subtle colour code. Not full Berry, but the influence is definitely there.

Writing the dialogue/story – 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love to write. I’ve always wanted to be an author, and writing Sims stories — even if it’s just dialogue — is so deeply rewarding. I tend to go overboard, especially with dialogue-heavy stories, and will write the entire thing out before I even open the game. I have to actively stop myself from slipping into full prose, but I love how much can be told through just the dialogue and the Sims themselves in the shots I take. One day I’ll get around to writing my mostly-prose projects (Bondbreaker, Genesis) and then you’ll really see.

Editing the photos – 🌟🌟🌟

I enjoy editing, but it can be a bit tedious. I rely a lot on GShade in-game for most of the heavy lifting, and then move into Photoshop afterward. I typically use Intramoon’s Sonder actions to add a little drama — sometimes more than a little. Editing can get more meaningful when the story calls for it; for example, the saturation in When the Light Comes In shifts over time as Bob starts to realise he likes Eliza. Other times, it’s just about getting the basics right.

Favourite colour: I'm super specific here, as I've loved the same shade of purple for like 17 years now. It's the one all over my blog! -- 8895c2. That and a warm sunshiny mustard yellow are my favourites..  

Currently watching: Andor! But only on weekends since I watch it with my husband and our fiance. During the week we watch anime or youtube. We're currently watching The Misfit of Demon Academy.

Last movie: At the cinema, the new Captain America movie, at home, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 [i haven't seen the others so we're starting at one and going from there.

Sweet, savory, sour?: I'm a big savoury gal. As much as I love a sweet from time to time, they don't agree with me as much as they used to, and i've never really been one for sour.

Currently reading: Been trying and failing to read Onyx Storm. Just haven't had the mental energy to do so.

Relationship: Married! Four years this year. The two of us are also engaged to our fiancé, whom is a chaotic energy goth girl to his golden retriever and my cottagecore.

Current obsession: Fields of Mistria. I play it while waiting for Sims to load and I've been enjoying it a lot. I'm using a massive spreadsheet to track my donations. Almost at the end of spring and the spring list is scarily complete.

Last google: fields of mistria butter recipe - bc i got a golden butter request and forgot how to make butter.

Currently working on: When The Light Comes In. Slowly but surely. I've gotten 3 scenes done so far. I'm not ENTIRELY happy with them but they're certainly better than I used to be able to do!

It's not required, but it's so much better than vanilla gameplay.
