An even awkwarder silence followed, the pro hero regarding him with an unreadable expression. Suddenly he dug a hand in to his pocket, mumbling something under his breath before pulling out a wad of cash.

“ How about you take this money and get yourself something to eat yeah? I feel like you’re going to just pass out right in front of me ”

he stares INCREDULOUSLY,small> down at the cash he’s JUST BEEN HANDED. part of him knows he DEFINITELY NEEDS THIS -- he’s BROKE AND STILL IN DEBT, but the more noble part of him IS NOT HAVING IT.  ` i -- i can’t just TAKE THIS ! i mean, no offense, or anything -- it’s just that i FEEL BAD ABOUT GETTING MONEY FROM OTHERS, you know ? i’ll be fine either way. `

Shock is clear enough on his face as he watches the display, even with his goggles to hide how his eyes widen. It’s not a destructive Quirk, so it’s easy for him to see how this man could have slipped through the cracks, but it’s impressive. It’s useful.

Shouta has absolutely no clue how the duo is going to get down from there. From his utility belt he retrieves handcuffs, attaching them to both the villain’s ankles and wrists. That should stop him from moving. Police will no doubt be there soon and he’ll be able to properly hand the villain over, or at the very least if he runs he won’t get too far.

Now it’s just a matter of getting those two down safely.

His first instinct is to use his capture weapon as a lasso, but that’ll probably just send them both careening down to earth. Disheveled black hair cascades down around his shoulders as he deactivates his Quirk, not wanting to accidentally erase either of them in midair.

“Did you think ahead, Crawler? I don’t think I could catch both of you without breaking a few bones. Mine and yours.”

` I CAN’T EXACTLY LAND with her -- it’ll be too easy for her to JUMP AGAIN ! `  ah, but eraserhead is RIGHT in the sense that he definitely WAS NOT THINKING AHEAD. he can’t stay up here forever, and her WEIGHT is definitely dragging him down. he didn’t want to let the pro get ANYWHERE NEAR HER, but..

` COULD YOU GRAB ONLY HER with your scarf thing? `  he finally asks.  ` i can coast down, but i don’t want her to TOUCH THE GROUND, and you’re probably stronger than me, so I GUESS IT’D BE THE BEST IDEA NOW ? `  of course he knows it’s kinda RECKLESS but it’s really all he can think of right now. he doesn’t want pop to get HURT, and anything else will probably result in that.

“ Ah, right. You should definitely keep yourself fed ” A moment of awkward silence ensued for a moment before he spoke up again. “…I’m assuming you DID get food today right? ”

ANOTHER SHORT BEAT OF SILENCE passes between them. koichi lifts a hand to rub at the back of his head.  ` uh. NOT YET ? `  not that he has the MONEY OR TIME to get food right now ! he’s a student with TWO JOBS, there’s no way he can always find time to EAT !

That’s helpful enough. He follows the Crawler’s directions until he can see a vague shape through the smog. His eyes sting with the smoke, but he keeps them open anyways. It dissipates with unnatural quickness. While the villain turns, looking surprised, he leaps up and slams both feet directly into his gut.

When he hits the ground, he rolls, deftly getting to his feet while his target writhes on the ground. After that, it’s a simple matter to get his capture weapon around him. With that done, he starts looking around for the girl.

“I have him. Is Pop Step up there?”

` NO, I DON’T KNOW -- `  his response is cut off by the sight of pop LEAPING UP suddenly. she’s jumping much HIGHER than normal but he supposes that’s just what TRIGGER can do to a person. he prepares to use his QUIRK once more.  ` i’m going up to get her -- don’t worry about me, i’ll be OUT OF YOUR HAIR before you know it ! `

AND THEN COMES exactly what he’s been WAITING to do this entire time. he launches off the building but he DOESN’T FALL as he would have done before his TRAINING FOR THIS. instead, his quirk is activated on the AIR ITSELF and it propels him up, up, up until he uses one arm to CATCH POP.

HE’S NOT THE BEST AT keeping himself still, but at the very least he’s TRYING not to move downwards.  ` I’VE GOT HER ! but it’d still probably be best to vacate the area. `  if the performer’s struggling is anything to go by, she’ll probably be able to BREAK FREE soon. god, he hopes the DRUG wears off soon..
