Me when my silly little warlock who I love very much

In DND, I possibly have the worst or best idea ever.

It's so iffy that we either execute it flawlessly or get executed flawlessly.

So I (a Warlock) own a ring. The ring has the symbol of the main evil group of this campaign. My party is trying to get into a town to save our new NPC friend, Nyx's, parents, who are trapped in said town and owned by this group of bad guys.

My idea was that because I have this ring, and our NPC ork friends we just met thought I was one of them because of it, I could use it to the party's advantage.

The tools we are using:

The ranger's 50 feet of rope

A empty flour bag we grabbed from a cart

My ring

Bard's religious book

The plan:

Tie up all party members except me and Bard, acting like my party are prisoners I've caught on a scouting mission or something. Bard's here to read their last rights before they get 'executed' or 'sent to life in prison'. I lead the group in and don't talk to the guards on post around the village's walls unless they ask anything. If they ask who I am, and why I have a (rabies infected) prisoner (our fighter) with a bag over their head, I show them my ring and and (HOPEFULLY) get by without any injuries or casualties.
