In the Bible, they say that Jesus dispelled seven demons from Mary Magdalene. So, she has seven lilies here. Also, I choose lilies because they can represent both death (they’re often present at funerals) but also rebirth. I thought that was fitting because Mary was the first to see Jesus after he rose from the tomb.

She’s wearing gold in reference to Savoldo’s painting of her. I believe her gold cloak in that painting is supposed to represent the Holy Spirit and how she felt discovering Christ resurrected.

The halo represents her sainthood, of course. And I like including the moon in a lot of female portraits because of how it represents femininity. Moon cycles, menstruation cycles, yk yk. And pearls just because they were fun to render.

Just finished GoT. The finale felt like the storyboard artists/writers went ham on their part and pulled out all these great ideas. But like the writers just wanted to leave their job to the storyboarders. So much of the dialogue is word salad. And SO MUCH RUNTIME is occupied by unnecessarily long sequences of walking from point A to point B, a character’s almost irrelevant reaction shot, and so on. Drogon and Ghost both looked fantastic, though.

Starting the final three episodes of GoT. I don’t know if I’m ready for this. I hope Brienne and Yara and also Dany and Sansa and the Hound are in every single scene.

more Game of Thrones doodles. I’m on 8x2 now. I still miss Ygritte. And Margaery. And Myrcella, but mostly for her dresses. And I need more episodes to have Yara in them. I really love SanSan, BUT I imagine Mr. The Hound is his book age fr. The canon can be whatever I want.
