Hate hate hate HATE it when I think I have a fantastic idea and then I remember that I had an idea I liked but then forgot it.
Been vaguely thinking about making a chore coat type garment for a while, and a few days ago had this idea of the approximate form, "Wow, it would be amusing in a poetic way for this plain garment have a vivid and detailed screen printed lining. And if the image is [] that's even more appropriate and appealing!"
Now I can't remember what image would've been so resonant! Infuriating!

I've said this before, I'm quite skeptical of rent control, but also skeptical of a lot of anti-rent control arguments. The conventional economic wisdom is that price controls in general are not good policies. Conventional wisdom tends to have something to it; I am a known orthodoxy-appreciator. On the other hand applying economic models to policy often involves not just simplifying the facts but eliding certain value judgements that not everyone might agree on, and this confounds the recommendations.
Now that NYC seems like it's going to have a mayor who does rent control, I'm interested in the anti- and pro-rent control arguments *for New York City specifically*. What are they?

Sucks to live in a society that pressures you into working hard but also uses "tryhard" as an insult.
#got called a sweaty tryhard constantly#get told to work harder by every single teacher and boss#to quote the classic line: make it make sense

"Wow, so terrible that Google Docs deleted somebody's file for allegedly violating the terms of service! So glad I'm using [other cloud storage service]!"
Listen to me. With more and more puritanical laws coming into place, you can't trust any cloud service to be safe forever.
Download LibreOffice and store your files on your own devices.
Don't trust remote storage for anything.
