Quagga – Extinction in 1883
The quagga is an extinct subspecies of the plains zebra. It used to live in South Africa from the late Pleistocene period until the 19th century. In appearance, the quagga looks like the amalgamation of two different species – zebra and horse. The front part of its body has white stripes just like zebra, while from the back it is brown just like a horse.
Quaggas were once found in great numbers in the Karoo of Cape Province and the southern part of the Orange Free State in South Africa. But their numbers started to dwindle after the beginning of Dutch settlements in South Africa. They were heavily hunted which caused quagga to become extinct in the wild by 1878. Some individuals were taken to zoos in Europe, and the last captive specimen died in Amsterdam on 12 August 1883.(source)

Javan Tiger – Extinction Between 1980 – 1990
The Javan tiger is an extinct tiger subspecies that used to dwell in the Java Islands in Indonesia. In the early 19th century they were so common over Java that in some areas, they were considered nothing more than pests. So, they were mercilessly hunted and poisoned. As the human population grew, the Javan tigers were driven to the verge of extinction due to a severe reduction in habitat.
By 1940, the Javan tigers were pushed into remote mountain ranges and forests. During the mid-1950s, there were only 20-25 tigers in Java. In 1972, there were only seven to twelve Javan tigers. A 1979 census located the tracks of only three tigers. In 1989, pug marks of Javan tigers were found, but there were no sightings. Since then, many surveys had been conducted and many cameras had been set up, but there is no indication of live Javan tigers anywhere.(1,2)

Bubal Hartebeest – Extinction in 1925
The sandy colored herbivore, the bubal hartebeest, once used to roam all over the north of the Saharan Desert, i.e. from Morocco to Egypt. These social animals used to live in herds of 100 to 200, preferring rocky areas with a fair amount of vegetation.
Their decline started in the 19th century, right after the French conquest of Algeria. In those times, entire herds were massacred at once by the colonial military. The last known herd containing only 15 bubal hartebeests, was located in Morocco in 1917. The last known bubal hartebeest in the wild was killed in 1925 at Missour, Morocco.(source)

Barbary Lion – Extinction in 1942 (in the wild)
Barbary lions, one of the biggest lion subspecies, were once native to North Africa. They inhabited the Atlas Mountains and were therefore also known as the “Atlas lion.” They had dark, long-haired manes that extended over the shoulder and down to the belly. It is said that they developed the colors and size of their manes due to ambient temperatures, their nutrition, and their level of testosterone. The Barbary lions, who once proudly walked in the Atlas mountains, are now extinct in the wild. The last known wild Barbary lion was shot in the Moroccan part of the Atlas Mountains in 1942. In the 1950s, several sightings were reported in Morocco and Algeria, but none of them were proven.(1,2)

Homosexuality /in general/ IS harmful though, evolutionarily speaking. If everyone was gay we could not continue as a species (obviously). To say flat out that it's harmless seems like a gross over simplification and jumps the gun.
No, homosexuality in general IS NOT harmful, evolutionarily-speaking or otherwise. First off, behaviors or tendencies are rarely if ever inherently disadvantageous or advantageous from an evolutionary perspective. What is advantageous is context-dependent, determined by the interplay between species and environment over long stretches of time. A behavior or trait might be advantageous for a certain species in certain environments, but might be altogether ruinous to another species in another environment. Secondly, there are many many examples of homosexual behaviors in nature. So it’s simply empirically false that homosexuality is evolutionarily harmful since it flourishes throughout the world.
To say that ‘if everyone was gay we could not continue as a species’ is completely beside the point, as this is not something that has ever developed through evolution. Moreover, it’s false! We currently live in a world where, for example, artificial insemination exists. So, let’s imagine that we could snap our fingers and tomorrow every human being was suddenly homosexual (Alex Jones has recurring nightmares of this happening). Would this mean the inevitable demise of humanity as we know it?? No! We could, through technology, continue to propagate our species. On top of all this, the whole conversation so far has been assuming a pretty binary perspective on both sexuality and gender—when in reality things are much more complex and continuous than that! AND, if that weren’t enough, EVEN IF homosexuality was ‘evolutionarily harmful,’ this wouldn’t necessarily make it morally wrong. See my previous post about the Appeal to Nature fallacy.
So, I can indeed say flat out that homosexuality—IN ITSELF, as a consensual expression of sexuality, love, and romance—is harmless. Science will not help justify your homophobia.

In 2013, PayPal accidentally deposited $92 quadrillion into a random account and briefly made Chris Reynolds the richest person in the world. When PayPal realized the error, they corrected it and offered to make a donation to a charity of his choice. If he’d been able to keep the money, he said he “probably would have paid down the [US] national debt.” Source Source 2

W. E. B. Du Bois is not a name one typically associates with science fiction. But the sociologist, historian, civil rights activist, and author penned a sci fi story in 1920 called “The Comet”. Set in New York City, the tale involves a black man and a white woman who seem to be the only survivors of a comet striking the Earth.
The story was originally published in Du Bois’ “Darkwater: Voices from Within the Veil”.
“The Comet” is an Old School Science Fiction example of what we today call “Afrofuturism” and is one of the earliest examples of an author using sci fi to explore the black experience.

If ur wondering why Mexico is rioting atm and if ur saying “omg theyre rioting over gas thats so stupid” and blah blah blah.. Just know that the minimum wage in Mexico is $80 Pesos($3 USD) a day.
they earn $3 dollars a day
The gas in Mexico right now is $15.75 Pesos per liter (btw this is the cheapest gas price in Mexico I could find.. $15 pesos is about $0.80 USD) In order to fill up a 4 cylinder car, they spend around $550 Pesos($30 USD)
So lets say someone works at minimum wage for 6 days. They end up earning $480 Pesos a week ($24 USD). Yeah.. no theyre not gonna be able to fill up their tank.
They still need to pay bills, buy groceries, clothes, etc.
The president of Mexico is shitty and ever since he got elected the country has gone to shit and they still have to suffer 2 more years until he is out of office
ALL OF THIS IS A REASON WHY MEXICANS IMMIGRATE TO THE US!!!!!!!! WE COME HERE TO THE US TO WORK AND EARN MORE MONEY TO SUPPORT OUR FAMILIE!!!! THEY DONT PAY ENOUGH IN MEXICO TO FUCKING SURVIVE!!!!!!!!!

Scientists found cosmic dust on city rooftops for the first time. 500 grains of 4.6 billion-year-old cosmic dust were identified after filtering nearly 700 lbs of sludge from gutters in Oslo, Paris, and Berlin. We’ve known since the 1940s that cosmic dust constantly falls through the atmosphere, but no one has actually been able to locate it until now. Source
The roofs of Paris are cosmic dust collectors:
