Photograph of the great mosque which was built in 1475 and separated into male and female section with capacity of 200 and 50 respectively . in a few years from now this structure will be gone because its breaking down every day and plantation coverage taking over Mnarani ancient swahili settlement along the east africa coast that stretches from mogadishu in somali to tanzania/mozambique boarder and the comoro island. Mnarani ancient settlement covers an area of about 16 Acers and contains vestige of two mosques, several tombs and one with a striking pillar soaring to about 10meters high with an incised decorated tombstone sitting on the basal construction course of the tomb, well and several mounds of perhaps residential buildings. The Mnarani city state flourished in the 16th century. Abandonment in 17th century, nature took over and covered the site with an indigenous forest and a few remaining buildings of the site will soon break down because of the plantation cover.
