In the light of recent events: Quick reminder that a person‘s outer appearance is never a reliable indicator of that person’s health. Most struggles are invisible.

By saying "he/she looks so good, they must be doing well" you’re only perpetuating stereotypes about how a sick person is supposed to look like. There is no book of rules our bodies follow when we are sick -regressions, flares, improvements happen and the skin on our faces has no fixed reaction to either of those. From the outside you can never tell how a person is really doing, no matter in which direction things are headed. 

You’re also not doing yourself a favour by talking yourself into believing that somebody must be doing fine even though you have barely any information on their health at all. We all have our parasocial relationships with people, we are so fond of them although we really only know them through a screen, we rely on them in some way or another, but we should at least try not to hurt ourselves with it. 

Let us be compassionate, sad even, but also let us be aware that we know little to nothing about it all because somebody wants it to be that way. That somebody only ever gives out information about his health to avoid speculation. Let’s not speculate, in either direction.

This blog is supposed to take a more humorous direction, but it is all based on me really liking her and the King a lot. And I'm always happy to "meet" other fans of hers, so I'm very glad you found my little blog here :)
