how did gray and lola meet and went into a relationship in your hc? did the two genuinely love eachother?

HIIIII okay so uhh

In my headcanons, the Act One of Gray's Brawl Talk animation is his first day actually working for Starr Studios. He records himself in front of the entrance to the location, showing off his portals. It's kind of just a personal milestone recording, so he can look back and go "Wow on that day I finally got into the studio!". However, as you can see in the animation, Lola kind of crashes the video?

This is how they meet. This is his first impression of Lola.

He does not like her.

Acts Two and Three take place later on, during the shooting of Gray's first film a few days later. Act Two is him rehearsing one of his gags and showing off a little before filming starts; in which, again, Lola interrupts him. Act Three is after shooting that day, where he is evading Lola again (hc) but she ends up catching up to him anyway when he tries to start post-shooting rehearsals in his dressing room.

They both initially believe that the other is self-centred, childish, immature, a show off, annoying, etc. to begin with - their relationship at the time is very sour, only pretending it isn't while working together on a set or while out in public (such as at an event).

Over time, however, they're getting unintentionally closer through spending so much time around each other - including out of work, where they'll bump into each other in places like Barley's saloon - and even sometimes helping each other (I hc that Lola can get easily overstimulated by heavy make-up and certain fabrics, and Gray (as a diagnosed autistic) has been able to pick up on the signs and help her to calm down from her overstimulation. Lola has also helped Gray with getting home or back to his dressing room when his chronic pains are acting up). This means that they, eventually - this takes quite some time, start developing feelings for each other.

Their relationship changes from that of co-worker hate and rivalry, to a love/hate relationship. They are both in denial for a while, but, after making out after an argument during their lunch break on a shared set, they come to realise the feelings are mutual and... sort of lean into them? They're both annoyed at themself and the other for having developed feelings, but they still notably dislike the other at the same time.

Due to leaning into this new relationship dynamic, however, they end up getting even closer - and finding out the causes to the initial problems they had with the other (e.g. Lola finds out Gray is a little bit of a show off because he actually has relatively poor self-esteem. When he feels good about something and is praised for it, he will try to milk as much appreciation out of it as he can). Once they start figuring these things out, they're able to try and discover solutions to them, therefore solving most of the problems they had, and balancing out the hate part of the relationship...

... until it got to just love.

They were both nervous and awkward about it, especially given all the hate they shared for the other in the past and all the probably horrible things they used to do and say to each other, but they both came to realise that it was reciprocated? Their new, proper, romantic relationship is one that was never really discussed or confirmed, they both just accepted that it was there and then continued to go about like they were now in that relationship.

They do genuinely love each other, they just didn't to begin with, it took a very long time.

I hope this all makes sense with the way I've explained it? I can clarify anything if needed

Legend I. Stagnant Seasons and the Punishment that followed.

The first underling of the Sun, the Queen of Seasons, was a noble being. She brought about beauty and change, beloved by those of the heavens and the mortals below.

It is known that nature must change.

When she slowed to bask in the beauty of the moon, it was an excusable error.

When she paused to hold her hand, it began to turn heads.

When she refused to move, she forced the Heaven's hand.

All for what the mortals had called... love. She'd learned it upon interacting with them over the years.

She wanted to stay with the moon.

The Sun warned her:

Once, out of pity. Twice, out of disappointment. Thrice, out of anger.

"She put the fate of the world on the line for her selfish wants."

That's what they said to justify their actions.

With much sorrow, the Sun passed her role to the next suitable elemental. Her wings ripped and torn, just as her essence was stripped away.

Cast down with chains of gold, bearing the weight of the mortal feelings she wanted so with her lover. Wearing her crown during the agonizing decent to the mortal realm for the last time.

Her only sin was to love.

Being stingy about other people's headcanons is so cringe bro

was doodling the cinema trio and realised some design parallels & contrasts between all of them and thought id put it into a post because why not

design-wise fang and maisie are actually really really similar, ive always thought this but i didnt realise just how similar they are until i started listing all of it to someone i was talking to on discord

both wear sleeveless tops

both wear loose/puffy high rise pants, both of which are also cuffed at the bottom

both wear gloves

both have the popcorn logo somewhere on their design

both wear sneakers (whereas buster wears boots)

could argue both have unnatural/dyed hair colours, though i googled it and apparently it is possible for dark skinned people to be naturally blonde but its just v rare... rare enough that i reckon this point still stands

both have golds + reds as their accent colours - buster sorta has this but its much less obvious/striking compared to the other two

this makes it sound like buster is the odd one out which he v much is at least design wise. but he has some similarities with the others too:

all 3 wear something around their foreheads (bandana, sun visor, headband)

all 3 wear blue pants of varying shades

maisie and buster both have a tool (fire extinguisher / film projector) where fang does not

fang and buster both have something slung over one shoulder (suspender, film loop). theyre on opposite shoulders too (something something one completes the other)

and then there's the differences / contrasts:

this one blew my mind when i realised it but fang is mostly primary colours (red yellow blue) whereas buster is mostly secondary colours (orange purple green). feel like this point isn't that strong though if you consider that buster also has black & grey + blue jeans too, and fang's hair is arguably more purple than dark blue. but i still thought it was interesting enough to mention anyway. also, maisie is a mix of both palettes (red yellow blue / purple black + her skintone is an orangey brown).

fang's hair is made of sharp edges, while maisie's is categorically rounded, and buster is somewhere in the middle where he shares fang's sharp edged bangs but his hair curls around the back, making it more rounded like maisie's

they all have different eyebrow shapes (triangle, rectangle, oval). could probably make an argument for this being reflective of their personalities with fang having the most sharp edges (most aggressive, reckless, confident); maisie being sharp in the sense of being very perceptive, responsive, quick witted but still less intense than fang; and buster being the softest, most shy, most protective

their personality is reflected in their playstyles too which are all starkly different - fang is aggro, maisie is control, buster is defensive. also means their trio can be a well rounded team in 3v3s too (which they were until maisie and fang got nerfed lol)

lots of cool design choices. knowing the release order was fang -> buster -> maisie can also help explain why buster is so distinct from the other two as well i think. because stuff like the popcorn logo seems like a strange thing to leave out of his design until you realise oh, the designers probably weren't thinking of having that be the logo of the theatre the trio work at until maisie came along and they realised it'd make a good logo/emblem.

there is also something to be said about fang and maisie being so similar because at first glance you'd think they're complete opposites - one is reckless and carefree, the other is literally a safety coordinator. that's definitely the impression you'd get from watching the animations from maisie's release as well. but maisie's bio admits that she lowkey enjoys dangerous situations and i think deep down she is actually very similar to fang in that they're both thrill seekers. she's still far better at keeping a level head when things go wrong than he is though

buster and fang being opposites is also really cute, at least to me. opposites attract and all that. i also think buster's actually a lot smarter than the maisie release animation gives him credit for, especially considering he was able to customise a film projector from the theatre for his own personal use. writing this now though i think one thing they do have in common is they're both pussies lol. as much as i hate the willow release art where fang is in shelly's arms, i do like the idea of him being a total wimp, just because it directly contrasts against all his other personality traits. buster is also clearly easily spooked if you look at his release animations in the ghost station. but he still saves gus in that one animation and i think thats indicative of his bravery - he'll always do the right thing even if it scares the shit out of him. fang, uh... probably not as reliable for that lol

How I look explaining my lore to anyone who isn't my partner or best friend

@itisbop I'm making a separate post for this explanation because it's a lot 😭 I'll try my best to summarize it

Okay firstly, some clarifications:

- I HC Willow to be a siren. She's adapted to living in the swamp but she's a siren nonetheless

- Charlie and Willow have an 8 year age difference, and were orphaned at 10 and 2 respectively (Charlie being older)

- both were born human

ANYWAY to sum it up, yeah I see them as sisters! They're kinda doomed siblings in a way because they got separated early on in life and Willow has no memory of Charlie. Their parents deceased very early on, leaving the pair to live in the streets. Willow (birth name Adeline) got cursed at age 8 after getting too close to a rumored "cursed lake" in their town, and shortly after her disappearance Charlie (birth name Charlotte) got roped up in the circus where she remained up until Starr Park.

When they reunited at the park, it took Charlie a little while to realize Willow was her sister (or at least what became of her), and since then when she's not at the circus she's at the swamp. Willow was practically alone ever since being cursed- leading her to be very antisocial and bitter, but Charlie's constant insistence of being around led her to open up just enough to properly welcome new people in her life (mainly Angelo). Charlie hasn't told Willow of their connection, nor does she particularly plan to. Willow doesn't remember anyway, so Charlie is fine with watching her at a distance.

Anyway I hope this summed it up well 🙇
