   [She smiles and places both her hands on the face of the woman who's picked her up. A bit of babbling and a giggle later and it's clear the kid's pretty okay with this woman picking her up.]

    [She's pretty comfortable around most strangers actually. Bit of a problem.]

[Oh my god, Gwen wants to adopt her and love her until the girl fell asleep and feed her cookies. Picking up the little girl, propping her up on her hip and smiled.] Hi there, little one.

[curious--boo]

    "Ehh! Ehhh!" [Holding the book out really quite insistently now.]

          [ What the hell is he looking at? Where did she even come from? ]

[curious--boo]

    [Read her this book or she will probably cry. Good luck.]

[curious--boo]

[You, friend, have the great honour of having a little girl claim you as her new best friend. Never mind the how's or why's of the girl being where she is. That's not important, or-- none of that really concerns her at the very least.]

[curious--boo]

         "Ahhhhh!"

    [At first she wriggles and tries to break free from the arms holding her. But the woman's got a stronger hold on her than she'd like and she cries out. She's not hurt, nothing's physically wrong. She just doesn't want to be held right now. And she wants to explore.]

      "Dow-- aaaahhh." [She's a squirmy one.]

"Boo, sweetheart—" 

{Temperance was trying to keep up with the little girl, but all she was really just running in circles. Eventually, Temp just picked up the little girl and booped her on the nose} 

"No touching, okay Boo?" 

{When had she started calling her that? Didn’t matter. Cause it fit}

[curious--boo]

    [She doesn't know who this guy is but he wants to pick her up and she's all for that.]

    [More babbling and then--] "Up! Up peas."

[Okay. He wasn’t sure if that was Standard, apparently she didn’t feel threatened. Tentatively she opened his arms, asking if she wanted to be picked up.]

[curious--boo]

     [She missed her Uncle Mike.]

"Hey kid."

[curious--boo]

     "Kitty!"

[curious--boo]

   [Because she can't properly articulate who. Or in this case maybe more of a what.]

[ Oh this is just too precious. The Doctor can’t resist. He quietly makes his way over to the girl and crouches down beside her. He knows not to talk loudly, as he used to play games like this with his granddaughter when she was younger. He whispers to the girl, ]

"Who’re ya hidin’ from, kiddo?"

[curious--boo]

    [She's coming, but also she's running around in circles, trying to touch anything and everything.]

{She stood and took the girls hand}

"Come on then."

[curious--boo]

    "Shhhh."

[It's a game. Just go along with it.]

[curious--boo]

    [Well you've made her laugh, which pretty much means you've won her over. Then again, she attached herself to a tall blue, polka-dotted monster just because he looked vaguely like a cat so...]

{She actually wasn’t sure what the girl was trying to say to her, whether it was a nickname or not or whether she was trying to scare her. So Temperance just assumed the latter and fake screamed and covered her eyes and waited a few seconds before uncovering them and laughing a bit}

"Do you want to come with me?"

{First and foremost, she was going to check the young girl for any injuries or something. No child should be aboard the ship}

[Well her name is Mary, but she's not big on the whole talking thing yet. At least not saying things that are very coherent. But there is something else she answers to.]

           "Boo!"

   [But whether she's providing her name or just saying 'boo' isn't completely clear at this point.]

"Well aren’t you adorable. What’s your name?"

[curious--boo]

    [Sneezing on you is definitely hilarious. She's not even sorry.]

[curious--boo]

     [Happy babbling and then--] "Hi!"

"Hello sweetie." 

[curious--boo]

    [Almost nothing startles her at this point-- but then she's not had a very normal childhood. In answer to his question, she just babbled happily.]

[So maybe turning a corner and shouting WHOA was a bad idea on a starship full of probably trigger happy security officers on increased patrol. Something about intruders, though no reports yet of a baby. At least she didn’t scare at loud noises.]

Hello there, little girl. When’d you get there?
