After rinsing out the Bentonite Clay mask from my friends hair. This is the second time I’ve done this and the week before I straightened her hair for an event. Curls are still there! This mask + her keeping her hair moisturized has made such a difference.
I mix bentonite clay + apple cider vinegar + tea tree oil to detox her hair and redefine her curls. It’s good to use maybe once a month or every 2 months to cleanse hair. Next time I’ll take a pic during the process!

Mix together : - coconut oil - avocado - greek yogurt
Leave on the hair 45mn under plastic bag or shower cap.
Avocados, much like eggs, are a very rich source of vitamin A and antioxidants all great for hair, especially if damaged.
Greek yogurt, or really any yogurt is a great for hair because it restores moisture and strengthens the hair all in one shot. The enzymes in yogurt are also known to relieve an itchy scalp and combat dandruff.
Olive oil its one of the top emollients that can penetrate the hair better than others, and its lightweight nature makes it great for moisturizing. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties that promote scalp health and prevent dandruff. Extra virgin olive oil is also rich in high levels of mono-unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, an antioxidant important for hair growth.

Looks like a challenge 🙂
Summer Hair Challenge
Towards the end of the school year I began to think of ways to maximize my hair growth during the summer. Taijah and I tried the protective style challenge starting back in November/December. To be honest…we didn’t do too well. At the beginning we did, but then started to slack off heavily. That’s when I thought of this small challenge for us to try. It doesn’t have a lot of rules and it is very basic. It goes as follows:
1. You must drink 3 bottles of water a day.
2. For each bottle of water you do not drink by 11:59pm, you must do 10 pushups per bottle.
3. [This is optional] Be sure to take your biotin (or whatever hair supplement of your choosing) each day.
4. Have your hair in a protective style majority of the time.
5. NO HEAT!
We started May 1st and are planning to go through August 1st. We will be sure to show before and afters once we are finished. This challenge can be done at any time of the year. Give it a try!
XOXO,
Alex

This is true! I love my texture
What's type four hair?
It’s the thickest hair type, and is unique to people withblack/African blood in them. it’s a very common hair type for black women.
Type four hair is broken down into three sections
4a, 4b, 4c, with 4a being the loosest of the thickest and 4cbeing the thickest of the thickest.
Type 4a hair:

Type 4b hair:

Type 4c hair (my hair type)

Someone with type 4 hair may have all type 4 hair texturesin their hair (4 a-c), but it’s more common for someone to have both 4b and 4chair since those are similar.
Type 4a is loose yet thick at the same time but has adefinite curl pattern. It’s very curly.
Type 4b hair is kinky and not nearly as loose. Like type 4chair it can stand like an afro but more than often it has a kinky curlypattern.
Type 4c hair is the thickest and unlike the others does nothave a curl pattern. It is very kinky coily and literally defies gravity. It almostalways stands up in an afro state, and even if it is long, it still stands up unless itis stretched. 4c hair has the most shrinkage, meaning that you can have backlength hair, but if it is wet is shrinks up like a sponge to a smaller, afrolike state.
It is what people refer to as nappy hair and what not.
Type 4 hair (especially 4c) is the most discriminated and made fun of inboth the natural hair community and outside of the community which is why somany black women fear going natural because they don’t wanna have type 4 hair.
But honestly, type 4 hair is amazing and it’s sad societyhas made us think it’s awful. I have 4 hair and I love it.

Why are (some) naturals so obsessed with having a visible curl pattern? If you have to overmanipulate, constantly re-style your hair and perform the max hydration method or other methods JUST to achieve a “visible” curl pattern then there’s a problem. The problem is that you still have an issue with how your hair already looks NATURALLY. Consciously or subconsciously, you do not find your kinky hair as attractive as curly hair. I’m not talking about naturals who do braid-outs or twist-outs as low-manipulation styles, I am talking about the naturals who go to extreme lengths just to loosen their curl pattern. Kinky hair with no visible curl pattern is just as beautiful as curly hair with a visible curl pattern. Please remember that.
