Today, Susanna is modeling the Two-in-One Running Outfit released in 2010. And also a new pair of glasses, because I can't decide between these and the blue pair.

Please I beg of you, look at this doll I spent two weeks on for my nieces birthday. She's got a hand dyed dress, custom accessories, a magnetic stand, and the custom box collapses flat for storage.

I've been frantically searching for a G2 Clawd Wolf doll as he has a bigger body than the G1 male body. However, because he has been so obscure to find at the price I wanna pay, I just wanted to start working on him so I used this Scarnival Clawd head that had pieces of his flock missing.
I rerooted him in a blend of warm red and brown saran from @customdollhairAU as it matched my G1 Clawdeen's hair blend.
I decided to fully root his sideburns as well as his hair because of how bushy the animated version of him looks, and I think it brings him closer to his Wolfman inspiration.
I'm really chuffed how well he turned out as he's one of my favourite Monster High characters from the show and I'm really happy to finally scratch that design itch.

Meet Violet Fielding, my original historical character from 1918 Boston!
I've been doing some workshopping with my custom historical characters because I've been a little bored with AG's historical offerings of late, and because it's a fun excuse to dig into moments in time that interest me personally, but AG probably wouldn't produce a similar character themselves. (I say that, but my 1940's Hawaii character predates Nanea, so who knows! Maybe I'm manifesting some future stuff I can borrow for my gals.)
Violet is the youngest of three siblings. Her older sister Alice is in her early 20's and either a nurse or a Hello Girl, leaning towards nursing because I'm not sure I want her to go overseas and she could work at a hospital in Boston during the war. Her older brother James is 19 and enlists in the Marines once the US enters World War I. I think by Violet Saves the Day, he's returned home dealing with quite a bit of "shellshock" and that becomes a somewhat major theme.
Her parents are pretty wealthy, and the family lives in a brownstone on Beacon Hill in Boston. Her dad is a doctor and mom is a suffragist who also gets involved in causes supporting the war effort. Both parents are very supportive of their kids following their passions and getting themselves out there in this still relatively new century, which is why Alice has been allowed to go to school instead of immediately marrying some wealthy guy.
Vi herself is a precocious and creative kid. I think she likes to draw and paint and generally be crafty and creative, which comes in handy when brainstorming ways she can support her brother overseas and the war effort more broadly. While she's not afraid to get her hands dirty, she does like typically girly things like having teatime and looking at catalogs filled with new dresses. Her book series would theoretically cover 1917 through 1919 or so, and touch on the war, Women's Suffrage, the Spanish Flu, shellshock, and possibly the Boston Molasses Disaster.
Currently I'm trying to come up with a best friend character for her, as she really needs a Nellie or Ruthie in her life with the age difference and both siblings being off doing exciting and scary things without her. There are a lot of different directions I could go in with said friend - fellow wealthy-ish kid feels boring, Boston had a lot of new immigrant communities in the 1910's, some of whom did live in a specific part of Beacon Hill, Boston historically struggles with insidious covert racism but was still a city with a number of prominent Black and Jewish communities - and nothing's quite clicked as perfect just yet.
Violet is a Marie-Grace doll with a Nanea wig. Someone was selling her on a Facebook group a few years ago and I immediately felt like she was a Violet and needed to join my crew. Her last name was inspired by Lady Dorothie Fielding, a British woman who drove an ambulance during WWI and received several awards for bravery and service. Fielding's letters home were published after her death and are a really fascinating look at what it was like on the front lines doing this incredibly dangerous and important work. I used it as a major primary source for an educational interactive I helped develop in one of my previous jobs.

My Collection!
From left to right:
Blair: (eras shirt) I got her in January of 2024. She’s Truly Me 101
Rebecca Rubin: from the historical collection. I’ve had her for 14 years, give or take. Her limbs are extremely loose from years of play- to the point where she can no longer stand on her own. So my Rebecca is disabled (I imagine her having hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome because of her loose limbs)
Little Rory: my Just Like Me doll! I named her after myself when I was a kid. I’m not sure what number she is but she’s a pleasant company doll from around 13 years ago. I’ve started giving giving her medical and mobility aids to match the ones I have/had irl
Mckenna Brooks: the 2012 girl of the year! I got her when she came out in 2012

Blair went to Rockefeller plaza, saw the skating rink, the fountains, Radio City Music hall, and big hearing aids at the NY store!
I was so nervous going out with my doll and having to talk to so many people (especially at the store- asking about getting the hearing aids) but I’m so glad I did it! A few different people complimented her hair and her outfit and asked where I got her shirt from. And it was really cool to see so many other adult AG fans in the store

Sunday, February 25th, was National Muffin Day!
Grace is at La Grande Patisserie whipping up a few batches of blueberry muffins. Normally, her shop mostly sells French and French-inspired pastries, but this is a special occasion and Grace knows her customers will be delighted.
At the end of the post, Grace will share her muffin recipe, but first she's going to show you how they're made!
Tumblr media
Here's the kitchen in La Grande Patisserie. She's got all of her ingredients and equipment set out on the prep table.
Tumblr media
First she cracks an egg into the bowl of her stand mixer.
Tumblr media
After adding the butter to the eggs, she pours in the milk.
Tumblr media
Here's an animation of how Grace's stand mixer works!
Tumblr media
After mixing together the dry ingredients, she adds them to the liquid ingredients, then adds a container of blueberries.
Tumblr media
All mixed!
Tumblr media
She fills the muffin cups halfway....
Tumblr media
Puts them in the oven....
Tumblr media
And gives them 20 minutes to bake.
Tumblr media
After pulling them out and letting them cool, she tops the muffins with a mixture of butter, lemon juice, and sugar.
Tumblr media
Perfect!
After the cut is Grace's recipe for blueberry muffins. I gave her the recipe; it comes from my mom's family recipe book, which is at least 50 years old. Trust me when I say these muffins will be the best you've ever had, in addition to being easy to make. The surprise ingredient is lemon zest and lemon juice, and they have a crunchy lemon-sugar topping.
Muffin ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Zest of one lemon 1 egg 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup butter 1 cup blueberries
Topping ingredients: 1/2 cup melted butter 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 cup sugar
Beat the egg, butter and milk together. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and lemon zest. Add to the egg mixture and stir just until mixed (batter will be lumpy). Gently stir in the blueberries. Fill the muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes (12 minutes for mini muffins like Grace has). Let them cool while you prepare the topping:
Combine melted butter and lemon juice in a small bowl. Measure the sugar into another bowl. Dip the tops of the muffins first in the melted butter mixture, and then into the sugar.

Doll show haul!!!! Only the outfit are what I got today!
Tumblr media
First up we have Nicki wearing the Earth day tie die shirt I found for $3. She was my buddy all day today, and I think this shirt suits her so well!
Tumblr media
Next up we have Marie-Grace in Kirsten’s Midsummer dress. I think this dress looks great on Marie-Grace, though I honestly might try it on Cecile next.
Tumblr media
Then we have Molly in her after school outfit! I almost squealed when I saw this. I love this set so much.
Tumblr media
Next up Addy! I’m so glad I finally have another outfit for her, even if it’s only her other meet dress!
Tumblr media
Then I found Samantha’s coat for $5 and got super excited.
Tumblr media
And finally, the best find of the day, Samantha’s bathing costume (the 1997 version) in complete condition, for $40. This has been one of my “only if I find a good deal, but MAN I want it” outfits. So it’s awesome to have it now!

Dimitria’s Hair Day!
(Aka tips on textured doll hair care and a foam roller set tutorial!)
Dimitria was feeling that her previous protective style was in need of updating so hair day it is!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This first thing Dimitria noticed is how incredibly dry her hair was and so it was time to gather materials!
What you will need:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spray bottle
A metal wire doll brush
A rat tail comb/parting tool
Heat protectant for hair
Coconut Oil
Small foam rollers, I used 12 of them
Small non-rubber hair ties, I used 10
Optional Supplies:
A soft bristle toothbrush for crafts
A large hair clip to help parting
Hair dryer with low and cool settings
A bowl with a rag and warm water.
First things first: always liberally wet doll hair before styling
Next step: add coconut oil! I havent seen anyone mention this before but for afro-textured hair like my PC addy, it is a must. This helps create what we call “slip” - it helps soften the fibers and let them slide past each other without tangling and ripping out. This is a must, in my opinion in caring for this type kanekalon-like hair. However you only need a very small amount. Pictured below is the amount i use for the entire doll head:
Tumblr media
The next step is to begin sectioning each part. The sectioning, roller size, etc, depend on the style yku are going for. At this step I also softly detangle from the bottom up and add my heat protectant.
Tumblr media
Then add your roller! I dont use papers so to help the hair not stick I liberally spray the foam of the roller with water before wrapping.
Tumblr media
Then just continue in your desired pattern around the entire head. I found that following the wefts helps with parting. I left the front two without hair ties for more volume.
Tumblr media
Setting the curls:
For me, in the past I found that doll curls fall out extremely fast if you don’t help set them. If you are uncomfortable with using mild heat this is optional.
So what I do is get the warm wet rag and set it on top of the set. Then, I take my hair dryer and heat it through the rag. This way it creates a steaming effect, similar to how you would iron a shirt.
I then take off rag and use the dryer on low, then cool to dry. The toothbrush is to help hold down flyaways so they dont set incorrectly.
Then I like to wait a day or so before taking the curls out:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Use a small bit of coconut oil to help separate and style the curls and youre good to go!
Dolls with textured hair required a bit more love, patience and care but it is very doable! Keep textured hair moisturized and detangled, using a lot of water! This will help prevent breakage and knot!
Thank you for reading! If you have anymore questions let me know! My next tutorial will be on doing twists and braids like Makena’s on dolls!
