#amigurumay2021 Day 25 - Good to Know Did you know about yarning under when making amigurumi? It is a technique that I just recently learned from @cotswoldscrochet on TikTok, and it has been a game changer! It leaves less gaps and makes the stitches look much neater. I wanted to share because I wish I learned this waaay sooner! When single crocheting, instead of yarning over by wrapping the yarn over the hook, you place the yarn under the hook and pull the yarn underneath the stitch (with the hook facing down) for both steps of the single crochet. I included a short video tutorial. The stitches should end up looking like little X’s. I love difference it makes! My projects look much cleaner now, and there are no gaps! You can really see the difference compared to my older projects, especially in the first picture of Vaporeon (there were soo many gaps 😅). I always wondered why my projects looked different than others I saw online because my stitches looked like V’s instead of X’s, and now I know why! This technique takes some time to get used to, but after I got the hang of it I feel like I crochet just as fast. It does make the project smaller, though, so I have been needing to add a few more rows than I usually do to my projects. Lolly the cat from Animal Crossing, crochet Amiibo plush. 💙 I am so happy with how she turned out! I think she’s my favorite villager I’ve made so far! Day 15 of #amigurumimay - Yellow This is actually my first day participating, but it’s better late than never! This is Gaston from Animal Crossing! He was a birthday gift for my sister last year.
