He didn't get me a new laptop. I got gifted a crate of stuff he saved from rich people's dumpsters. (I mentioned I thought dumpster diving was pretty fun once.) He works a maintenance man for one of those rich people gated communities and, apparently, there's a guy that lives there that's a prototype tester for Walmart.

And my dad managed to fix my laptop while me and bf were out at dinner.

My current laptop was running on Windows 10 which is no longer going to be supported as of October 14th of this year.

I'm trying to install Windows 11 and I think my laptop is panicking, but like, so am I because what do you mean you're "undoing changes made to your computer"?

I've been here for almost 5 hours.

Still haven't fixed it. Told bf about possibly having to buy a little cheap-y laptop so I can get work done. Day after: *tells me he has a surprise for me.* I'm very worried he bought me a laptop and spent way too much in it.😅

I really let y'all down with this one because I had started it and made it super angst-y and then opened it one day, hated it, and deleted everything I had written for it. Which was an approximate 30 pages of 12 point Times New Roman, double spaced.

My laptop had other plans and decided that it's hard drive wanted to die, so here we are on Day 2 of "Can Bunny and her dad fix it?" And so far the answer to that question is "not likely," but I think we might actually be getting somewhere rn.

“You can't possibly be serious,” you shriek while walking briskly next to your coworker. “A specimen like that cannot be put into the cryo program! He should be put into the breeding program to eliminate some of the growing possibility of incest!”

“You can't seriously think they don't know incest is bad, can you, Dr. L/N?”

“Of course they don't know it's bad! They have zero education because you keep them locked up here like lab rats despite my suggestions and insistence!”

Your coworker just huffs in brief acknowledgement before continuing his walk to the elevator.

“He's intelligent with the epitome of the perfect exterior and interior builds of the human body! Why would you not want him in the program?!”

“You said it yourself: he's extremely intelligent. Thus, he is the perfect vessel to deliver our knowledge to the future lest it be forgotten.”

“Yes! That knowledge can be passed down through generations and modified when something changes or is discovered!”

His back is completely turned to your upset form and something comes to mind.

“It’s because it’s a male, isn’t it?”

He pauses to turn back and look you in the eye and then shrug. “Maybe, maybe not. Who’s to say?”

“Evidently, you!” You practically scream it and hear it echo off the cold, dead, grey walls of the compound hallway.

“What a smart girl,” he mockingly says.

It makes your teeth grind, and if possible, they’d be dust in under ten minutes.

“Mark my words. This is a mistake and it will likely cost lives.”

“Which lives, Ms. L/N? Mine, yours, others?” He cocks his eyebrow at you in further mockery.

“You know damn well which lives I mean.” A steely gaze is not enough to tear this man from the pedestal he and the government have put him on, but you still feel like it gets your point across, though not to him.

You hear the clicking of heels echoing quickly down the hallway towards the both of you and the accompanying heavy breathing.

“Dr. L/N, Nurse Jimin requests your presence as soon as possible.”

“Better go tend to your adorable little boy toy, Ms. L/N.” The smirk is evident in his voice.

Why does CPS and APS not take anything seriously when the report you filed is for a hypereligious area?

Attempting to work on The Missing Paper Clause, but I accidentally ate something with walnuts in it earlier and also realized I haven't prepared the lesson plans for this month.😮‍💨

I felt something in my teeth and got pissed so I started brushing hard.

Got it out and it fell in the sink.

I couldn't figure out what it was so I did a Google Lens search.

It told me it was a bedbug.

It was, in fact, not a bedbug, but the knot from my stitches.

They neglected to inform me during pre op that the knot wouldn't dissolve like the rest of the stitches.

So I was on an emotional rollercoaster thinking I had completely ripped open the surgery site.

Then I remembered dissolving stitches are intended to dissolve 7-10 days post op.

So I started freaking out again thinking I had an open wound this whole time and didn't notice.

I didn't. I'm fine. Just uneducated on surgery.

Felt something between my teeth.

So I tugged on it.

It hurt.

I stopped and then Googled where exactly all the stitches in my mouth would be because I didn't know and wanted to make sure I wasn't ripping out my stitches.

A few Google searches later, I keep pulling on this thing. Except, I've found something similar on the other side too.

Now, you have to keep in mind, I don't know what ripping out stitches or breaking a bone feels like as both instances have never happened to me and it's very likely that I would be the moron that rips out my stitches and goes "that stung a bit."

I pulled out both items.

I started bleeding and parts of my gums are so irritated that they're sitting away from my teeth.

IT WAS BLOODY GAUZE FROM POST OP, Y'ALL. LITERAL WADS OF GUAZE. THEY WERE LODGED BETWEEN MY MOLARS FOR ALMOST A WEEK.

I'm going to get drugged tomorrow~

(All 4 of my wisdom teeth are finally being removed because they're severely impacted and I can finally afford it.)

Thinking about that time when I was like 10 and my mom pulled a bug off my head thinking it was lice and we didn't realize until like 3 years later it was a baby praying mantis.

My wallet hurts more than my face! (This cost me almost $2K USD)

They gave me an IV with the knockout juice and then local anesthetic.

And that was the greatest hour long nap of my life.

Now just waiting for those magic blood clots to form and looking up meal ideas that won't give me some kind of severe dry socket.

This is also the shirt they gave me.
