Short Fiction title: "Notes on Ceramic" ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎن ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎن ن ن ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن⠀ We should say how it starts, shouldn't we? Wet clay and water, finger-formed. We should say it's spun probably, formed from a controlled force, built over a locus.⠀ ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ⠀ ن⠀ There's control there, pressure and something bigger bearing down on something more malleable, responsive. They learn both ways though... one teaching control, one teaching release, and who's to say which way that knowledge flows : up or down--but it does.⠀ ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ⠀ ن⠀ When you reach a certain point everything becomes that way-- clay, formed in an instant of perception, reassessed, adjusted. Short Fiction title: "Story of a Child" ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎن ن ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن Cloth. The way it's folded, catches light and reflects or absorbs it depending on the material. In the classical sense they'd probably call it drapery, and try to add some words that mimic water. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن Fall.This far from innocence we forget the wonder we once contained. How deep into a moment we could stretch, and how the tiniest details of single second could enwrap us. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن Cover. The cold is something to contend with. How water evaporates from our skin, stealing the heat, spreading a warmer halo one milimeter around us. Our bodies can't stop it, we even shiver to contend with it. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن Age. Existence precedes essence, that much is evident to me. I think the thing I miss most is not being aware of time. How it passes faster as we age, like a river, like a flood, carrying along with it all the pieces of who we think we are. What's here was both seen and found, built and uncovered. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن It's like I'm looking for something, trying to find where the fractures will form first, before the smallest movements of the ground have even been recorded. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن Everything starts like that: blank... but not really--there's fibers in the canvas, there's imperfections in the color; there's sound and an understanding of light before we're even born. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن We're born though, and gifted a horizon, gifted a language. I think the things we learn have been underwritten for us before, a line recalled here becomes an echo in the words I'm writing here; how paint spatters, how ink runs, and, patch it as we can, we have to find a way to connect to the chaos in between. ﮔﻠﺴﺘﺎ ن A measurement of the disorder, a measurement of how dispersed the energy in world is...
