I found this Wikipedia link and my first impression (I have to admit) was of happiness.

Christoph Waltz thanking Quentin Tarantino after receiving his Oscar for his role in the film Django Unchained. I think it was incredible that Waltz said this to Tarantino, because Tarantino has been crossing through fire and slaying dragons after Django Unchained was hit with controversy for it’s raw realities and violence. He’s an artist, a genius, and an inspiration to me as well as every other fan and aspiring filmmaker, and I’m so glad someone stood on stage in front of sparkling Hollywood and thanked Quentin, in the words of his character no less, for being who he is and who he needs to be, and standing up for it, because fans like me couldn’t.
