Squeee!* She's alive  I missed you my precious machine! Welcome back. <3 *Ahem* Anyway...I've been itching to embroider this design ever since it was completed. And I have to say, for a first test run this turned out way better than I expected. For one; what with this being a completely lineless design, I feared the scales wouldn't stand out enough. But they look surprisingly great! Guess all that effort I put in them paid off The koi will have a fake gem on it's head, which I don't have yet.

Japanese koi fish ~ Embroidery pattern

Another phone case design. c: Just like the feathers with the phoenix, the fish is build scale by scale. The image is kinda japanese tattoo inspired. I'm not showing it in simulation mode because it makes the preview look like an alien... So you can't see the detail put in the koi yet.

Finito!  I Might make some changes later but this is what the design will look like. c: Note that this is a screenshot of the pattern in simulation mode. The actual executed embroidery will have much finer stitches and cleaner. Oh, and I'm leaving the space for the eye open because it'll have a gem instead of an embroidered eye. All phone case designs will have a gem incorporated in it in some way.

Blue phoenix ~ embroidery WIP

A little update on one of the designs previously posted.  

 This is the first time I'm building a bird pattern  feather by feather. And jeez, it's a lot of work! But the final result will be worth it.   Oh and btw, I will also make a classic red version. I just prefer working with cool colours when I'm putting together a pattern. Red is a little too agressive on the eyes if you have to concentrate on your screen for hours.   Taking a break now. My eyes are getting tired XD

COMING SOON: Embroidered Phone cases

A few of the many designs that will be used for the phone cases. I was in the mood to draw this weekend. The line work is anything but perfect but that doesn't really matter. In fact, these embroidery designs will have very few lines. The lines only serve as basic guidelines for when I start making the embroidery patterns. Which will require me to completely remake the image anyway, but with stitches instead. The phoenix isn't finished yet. I was running out of space so I'm doing the lines for the tail digitally. Really looking forward to do that one and experiment with embroidering feathers.

Shiranui Okami Embroidery.  Throwing out a plug to Cyan Fox Designs! (Or Goiku, on deviantART!) She makes amazing custom plushies and detailed embroidery like the one above which is a great example of the unique patches that she creates; I am always impressed by her skill with a needle - it’s like she paints with thread.

Embroidered leather keychains

So, this was a completely new thing and kind of an experiment for me. I have never before embroidered genuine leather (I have worked with faux leather though). It definitely required a different approach because you don't want it to tear or the embroidery to 'pop out' of the leather. The needle leaves holes that you can't undo. So I was surprised how well these turned out!   I want to make a whole lot of keychains like these for Abunaicon 2016 with all kinds of different anime, game and other images. I have a lot of these pattern ready for use already but suggestions are always welcome c: Some are flat and some are puffy and squishy c: The Cloud Strife ones are a little bigger but the material used for those is much thinner and requires a delicate hand. Those with white embroidery will glow in the dark. All leather used for my crafts are renmants and scraps from livestock tanneries. The hide would be thrown away otherwise so I'm just putting them to good use.

Plushie nose with prisma effect

Trying something new for specific plush I'm making c: Last year I imported some special aerosol paint from the UK. Well, it's actually not paint but more of semi-transparant coating with fine particles that create a subtle rainbow-like shine once applied. It looks amazing, especially in sunlight! But god, does it smell XD I just applied a layer of glossy varnish, which that out the colours even more. So I'm just gonna wait until that dries before using this custom painted nose.
