i hate to be this person because i used to roll my eyes at people who told me this but finally making myself go through uncomfortable situations for the possibility of joy has resulted in me being happier than i ever could have imagined being. i do think that you should always listen to yourself but i prevented my own happiness for a long time by not knowing how to tell intuition from overthinking and being too afraid and sticking to negative what if’s when i should have been sticking to positive what if’s. not every venture outside your comfort zone will result in some revelation that moves the earth under your feet but the probablilty of it is zero if you never venture out

don’t let this world’s obsession with youth rob you of the big and small joys of adulthood. i spent most of my teenage years and early twenties struggling with my mental health. but there’s no timeline for happiness. for many people, getting older and growing up means having more chances to redefine their values, find their path and stability in life. some people go to college in their forties. some people marry in their sixties. some people recover better after their thirties. there’s no timeline for this kind of stuff. your childhood and teenage years won’t be the only chance you have at experiencing freedom and joy.

I've been back on my nostalgia shit and now i made a self insert for - of all things - tommy the choo choo. She's for both it and Shining Time Station, since i tend to mix the 2 together in my headcanons.

So the story is I planned on visiting my sister in Durham but end up boarding the wrong train to shining time valley. While staying there I met its cast, including a certain magical blond. This may after TATMR, or could be different events from the canon. But I start to fall in love with the cozy town and its history. That and Im the only other adult besides stacey and Burnett who can see the conductors. Eventually i do visit my sister but come back to visit as kuch as I can. Finally i decided to quit my job and move in at the local motel to work in bookkeeping.

After I help stop PT Boomer and his gang from stealing Lady, and further adventures, I end up joining Shining Time full time as a conductor/guardian.

Now I have several designs: one of them is green and Im called the Green conductor, as a refernce to the line "green for glory" and the cut song "Girl in Green." I want to form something of a trip with the conductor cousins (blue) and stacey (red).

Other outfit is a maroon-pink get up inspired by Lady. I also carry a sword because im the brawler. Yes I do like figthing. No i do not need to see a therapist. And since I have a connection to Lady I want to stick to a victorian theme, like by day i dress up to talk to visitors about the history of the valley and Lady's creation. Third outfit is a mix of the two.

sometimes, even last night, I would hate on my younger self, wish I was a perfect being who did no wrong, but honestly, that won't fix anything. needless self hatred will just make you feel worse, it's just best to get up and keep going despite it all. whoever is reading this, please don't let your mistakes and fuck ups bound you forever, there is hope for a better future out there for everyone. hating yourself will not get you there faster.

A week or two ago I was thrifting in NYC and was shocked to come across this, in pristine condition and filled with prime Wooton content (praise his name, for all of us are he). I didn't end up buying it but was still shocked to see Adventures in Odyssey out in the wild.

lmao they've released so many of these over the years. Brian had an Odyssey bible that was branded off of the cartoon series. It had little comic book inserts where Dylan and Jessie (the cartoon versions of Jimmy and Donna) learned asinine moral lessons

I still think he's the best voice for jason and underrated as a VA in general.

A bit off topic but as a fan of transformers animated, i wonder if Sentinel Prime was indirectly a dark reflection of Jason if he lacked his redeemable qualities. They're pretty similar in personality but not in heart.
