Why in no ones analysis of vox and val do they mention how Vox is just expected to calm Val down and how fucked that is. I dont know how you can see that and think Val is Vox's victim. Its like everyone is allergic to seeing context. Oh vox yelled at him. Did you notice val yelling at him and throwing things at him and breaking his stuff first. Oh vox didnt seem upset by that so its fine :). First of all. What. Yeah abuse victims get used to being abused that doesnt make it ok? Secondly why the hypocrasy. Val also doesnt act at all disturbed to be yelled at, in fact hes smarmy and satisfied like he was riling up vox to get this reaction. Meanwhile vox is tense the whole scene, shown to be dreading going up to him in the scene before, which is also never mentioned. Oh hes on his phone not listening so mean. Why should he be expected to someone screaming in his face??? Why is val entitled to that??? It kind of seems like a way to dissociate from being abjsed if you ask me! How fucking dare he!

Also everyone takes valentinos framing of the alastor situation at face value. Ever thing maybe vox is pissed because Alastor FUCKING TOPLES OVERLORDS ON THE REG??? AND COULD GET ALL 3 VEES KILLED FUCKING DEADDD????? Val makes it about his personal issues and no one FUCKING CONSIDERS that maybe, MAYBE this asshole isnt a reliable narrator and vox might be pissed that Val is withholding valuble information that could be life and death and should be acted on as soon as possible to manage the situation and wasted his time pissing about some fuck he OWNS and could make do whatever he wants. Not to mention how Val riles him up by PURPOSEGULLY NEEDLING HIM before giving IMPORTANT POLITICAL INFO causing Vox to be emotionally unstable when he tries to handle it which I beleive directly leads to how embarassing the stayed gone incident was ans makes everhone think vox is a fucking idiot

I am not putting this in fandom tags I am an abuse victim who is affected by peoples bad interpretation of abuse and I am mad about this not because i give a single flying fuck about fandom nonsense but because this reflects peoples real attotudes twoards abuse victims that i have seen irl many times and i am just aghast to see people still do ot to fiction where things are obvious and you can witness the events and anylize context easily and they are still doing it.

This post is a vent about abuse culture. This is a vent about all the times ive seen people abused and then seen as the violent one when they react, because the abuser abuses them with a smile or in a socially acceptable way or its just a joke man or no way could they be the abuser bc the demographics (bc lets be real, im p sure ppl see vox as the abuser more bc hes masc and shown as a ceo which people associate with power). This post is about people who are expected to have to calm down abusers, people for who "thats just what your mother/sister/brother/husband/grandma/whatever is like" and you are expected to manage manage manage and why are you being so mean to them if you push back or get angry. To the people who are punished for "not being the bigger person" when no one is doing fuck all or gives a fuck that youre being abused and just trying to defend yourself.

I dont give a fuck about some fucking drawings but I care about real people and the way some people act about these drawings fucking scares me man.

aniMAYtion day 1!

Timing worked out so this is sort of a year-later redrew of my Vox drawing, thought it'd be neat to see his mental breakdown animated :3 although the freaky background had to be omitted in this version bc procreate was starting to bug out with all the layers but hey that's a learning experience for the upcoming animations

Happy with the posing (even though the right arm drove me NUTS oh my god making that scratching motion look natural almost drove me insane; will be using references in the future holy-) and the screen flickering was super fun to mess with! I might make something with just that so I can really make his face go crazy

Not so happy with the blood/dripping but I also wasn't being as meticulous with that as everything else, so it looks a bit janky.

But, overall, happy with how this translated from idea to final! We love to see Vox pathetic and crazy
