I got a lot done today! I created some more assets like some a tree and a cake, and I also did 4 unique animations with the dog.
I find the coding to be the hardest part for me. My partner Evie agreed to help me out with the coding, so now we are working together as a team. :-)

I did some more modeling today and came up with this little guy! I took some inspiration from Pokemon Rumble and tried to simplify the model even more than before.
I found the texturing process mostly painless, and I did paint it in blender again.
As you can see from the video, I also rigged and did a simple animation for this model. And get this, I found the rigging process very easy this time around! I didn't even have to pull up a tutorial to follow along to, and the armature/ animation process only took me about 10 minutes.
For some reason with the cat model, I could never get the bones to pull the correct vertices, but I think the simpler model has helped me figure it out.

My goal for today was to create a floor with collision and I did it! I found a really helpful tutorial on youtube which I've been following.
Pretty soon I'm going to starts with scripts, which I'm very nervous about. I followed along with a player input script that the creator had provided and it didn't work for me.
Next goal: continue following along with tutorial & make more models?

I have learned to export and play my animations in Godot! Look at these funny guys. Somehow the skeletons have become disconnected with two of them.
I think that's enough for learning for today. ^_^

My first digital model :-)
There were many times when making this that I felt like giving up, but I have big plans.... so that's not an option.
I struggled a lot with the rigging and weight painting. The final rig ended up pulling the mesh from all different ways, and I decided to just roll with it for today. The next time I do a model, I'll try and sort that out. Maybe I'll use rigify?
UV unwrapping and texture painting were also pretty difficult. In the future, I'll definitely try importing textures from my regular art program instead of painting them in blender.
This little scene I ended up with could also be improved in ways that I wasn't up for today, for example, I'd prefer if the background image wasn't casting a shadow, and kept its true colors. I'd actually like for the model to do that as well, so I guess I'll have to figure that out.
Baby steps!
