The UK excels at this performative overreach. Instead of trusting people and educating them, the system infantilises everyone. Because it’s easier to rule scared, dumb people — easier to sell them rules and fear than nuance or agency.

And the truly maddening part? They always do it in the name of "protecting society" while letting actual threats like data monopolies, wealth hoarding, and misinformation factories skate by untouched.
