This man wasn't taking him seriously, and it was infuriating him.
Few things got on his nerves, but not being taken seriously was one of the highest things on the list. At this point, any information the man could release about himself was of no matter to Houka, he just wanted to better himself. He wanted to prove that he was capable of so much more than he was letting on.
Houka sighed, regaining his cool. He couldn't be yelling and expect to be taken seriously. He adjusted his glasses before looking at the man once more, sheer determination still evident in his gaze.
"Nothing. You have nothing to gain, and I am aware of that."
Tumblr media
"Nothing perhaps an ally, but you don't seem like the type of person that's interested in that. However that is all I have to offer. But I would definitely...appreciate it."

She was wrong. She was so horribly wrong.
"...no. I'm afraid that sort of hacking isn't exactly what I'm looking for."

"I'm talking about computers. Databases. Ring a bell?"

“Oh, do you mean like… hacking down your opponents with a blade? I’m good at that!”

As the days passed, the house in which Houka resided grew quieter and quieter. The first one to leave had been Gamagoori, and though all despaired that he was not with them anymore, they were glad he was back home. Sanageyama soon followed, and it became most curious to the hacker as to why his…friends, were being returned home. Then, Jakuzure was sent home.
Tumblr media
Houka was the last of Honnouji’s Elite Four in Hive City.
Though Lady Satsuki was still around, as well as many Nudist Beach members, Houka felt a resounding loneliness. He couldn’t tease Gamagoori anymore, or point out when Sanageyama was being idiotic, or bother Jakuzure to the point that she would yell at him.
He didn’t have many friends in Hive City, and now, he had less.
Tumblr media
For some reason, this bothered him more than it needed to, and he hung his head, a sullen expression adorning his features as he sat on a bench in a park in Sector 001. How long would it be until this feeling faded?

Likewise, Houka was glad to see that his good friend Iori was in the city now. At least now he'd have someone he could talk to for longer periods of time and not have to worry about getting snapped at, unlike a certain snake he knew. He smiled, despite Iori's frown, and crossed his arms as he continued to talk to him.
Tumblr media
"Do you really think so? And here I was hoping I stood out, but if I blend in with everyone else, then I guess that's much better.""
Houka chuckled lightly, shrugging and raising his hands to the side as he did. Iori was right, of course. Houka had plenty of information on the city and knew he was already fairly well. However, the one mystery he still hadn't managed to crack was the one about how all the scientists managed to bring them here in the first place. But that was another problem for another time.
"I can fill you in on information about the sectors and districts so you know where you can relax and where you need to be on your guard. I can tell you right off the bat that there's people from multiple universes here so don't be surprised by anything you see. Magic, monsters, it's all commonplace here."
Tumblr media
"And since it might be of interest to you, there's a large textile shop in Sector 005. Anything else?"

✄— Now here was a familiar sight that Shiro did not mind seeing at all. Someone he was pretty close to, who he has worked with on countless occasions. To see Houka Inumuta before him was a relief, however, he did not let his own expression falter.
Tumblr media
"Ha, you almost like like the residents in this city, I almost couldn’t pick you out from everyone. But I’m glad I asked the right person. Who else would have information on this city besides you." With that, Shiro let himself let a thin smile out in seeing his friend in this city. "It’s good to see you here too, Inumuta. However, joining this city was no intention of mine."
Shiro’s serious expression came back, placing his glasses in place before continuing. “Well, I guess I can just ask you a few things about this place, but I’m sure you’ll tell me what is worth remembering about this city.”

"Ha, what a weak move. But I can understand where he's coming from, I guess. It didn't stop many others from making their own copies, though of course none are as good as the original."
Tumblr media
"Oh yes, it's quite ridiculous. Very difficult. Only a select few have managed to beat it."
Of course he was lying. The 'final level' was fake, but she didn't know that.
"That could be .. thought I heard the creator put the game down, because he couldn’t handle the success? It’s amazing how simple things can be so addicting and genius."
She sighed a bit and thought about the many times Kido went back to play again, despite telling herself to finally stop. When Inumuta chuckled, her eyes widened a bit.
Tumblr media
"A final boss? I had no idea there was a boss. What is it like? I can only imagine that bird going through pipes, but fighting..?"

Though it seemed like sort of a waste to leave behind the city they'd helped build after everything that happened with Ragyo, Houka still wasn't really bothered by his presence in Hive City. If anything, he saw it as an opportunity, a chance to learn more and gather even more data about things he'd never seen before. Which is probably why he was so nonchalant about the whole thing.
Still, there was some data he hadn't managed to obtained yet, and one source of it was already in the city. Tsumugu looked as though he had been headed out with other intentions, but it didn't really matter to Houka. He simply adjusted his glasses before looking up at him.
"I need some information. I've got some questions about Nudist Beach."
Tumblr media
"Basically, tell me as much as you can. Origins, members, weapons and strategies - anything."

"Hm, maybe I should consider it. Most of the people I'm usually around can't tell when I'm being sarcastic either. Food for thought."
Tumblr media
"I guess it's because they've focused so much on their methods of yanking people from their homes that they haven't really considered how unimpressed we'd be with their setting."
"You could be more obvious with that tone of yours, but I suppose it would take the fun out of it."
Tumblr media
"Yeah, it’s hilarious that they’re trying to convince us that the technology here is advanced."

It seemed as though slowly, but surely, all of Honnouji Academy's key players were arriving in Hive City. Initially, it had been the ones on his side - Matoi, Lady Satsuki, Kinagase, Mikisugi, and of course, the rest of the Elite Four. But soon, the others trickled - Harime Nui and Ragyo Kiryuin - and at this point, they really needed all the support they could get.
Perhaps that was why when he saw him, a smile crawled its way onto the hacker's face. Of course, that wasn't the only reason. Outside of the Elite Four, Iori was the only other person Houka really got along with. In fact, he probably got along better with him than he did anyone else. So of course he was happy to see him. And yet, it seemed as though Iori hadn't recognized him, or perhaps he hadn't been looking.
He adjusted his glasses, and chuckled a bit before responding.
"There is one sector, sector 005 I think, that likely has something. I can take you there."
Tumblr media
"But before that, glad to see you've finally joined us, Iori."
Population: Zero Stars (Intro/Open)
✄— That was exactly what everyone was in this city, through the eyes of Shiro Iori. No faces seemed familiar, no clothing attire was of his. The citizens of this city were, without a doubt, Zero Stars. Not to mention that they live in apartments around the city, or perhaps in the streets. that provided a perfect explanation and a clear picture of the majority of these citizens. The high power were the ones that brought him to this city. It would be interesting to learn how this was possible, what sort of technology was use to understand a little more about what happened.
The plan now, was to get everything in order within the walls of this city. Perhaps he should start off with what this city had to offer. Understanding the different sectors may prove to be beneficial. Also knowing where important stores and shops were may help him as well. Coming to a single conclusion, Shiro approach the nearest stranger, his voice addressing the individual. No doubt a Zero Star.

She started to bombard him with questions, something he typically wouldn't mind if it wasn't coming from one Ragyo Kiryuin. Her questions his the nail of his worries on the head every time, and the more she asked, the less he wanted to think about it. His expression didn't waver, but his resolve certainly was, and then--
Tumblr media
Houka pushed his glasses up nervously. Had she not known of the presence of the Grand Couturier in Hive City? Had he just been the one to reveal it to her? What an idiotic mistake. Still, he reassured himself - she would've found out eventually.
Tumblr media
"Consider it a freebie," He said as he cleared his throat, still attempting to keep face. This was something that he would need to report to Lady Satsuki as soon as possible. "Either way, our forces are stronger here than yours."
"That makes one of us," she said with a smirk. "Go ahead and gather all the data you like, Inumuta. Do you think it will change anything? If you can find allies in this city, do you think I can’t? Are you sweating, Inumuta? Are you that nervous? I haven’t even begun to-“
Tumblr media
"…Did you say… Harime Nui?"
Tumblr media
She leaned in, lips pressed into a grin. “Do you mean to tell me the Grand Couturier is here, Inumuta? Already, things are getting a bit more interesting, wouldn’t you say so?  My thanks for being so helpful.”

"If you're hinting at the fact that I tend to hack and steal information, thereby ignoring the privacy of others, then yes I guess you do have a point."
Tumblr media
"But my reasons for doing so aren't malicious. Unlike you. You are someone we have to keep an eye on. I'm surprised you haven't done anything in the city yet."
Tumblr media
”Ooh? Someone like me?" She speaks quietly, eyeing the Elite carefully. "That’s soooo rich! Especially coming from you!”

"It's almost like it's hardwired to keep you coming back, and it's just so irritating, but ingenious."
Houka stared at the girl before him, eyes going wide behind his glasses as his lips pressed into a fine line. Suddenly, he broke out in a light chuckle.
Tumblr media
"You have no idea. They move, they angle, then there's a final boss. It's absurd."
"Hmm, I have to admit I caught myself playing now and then again, and there is indeed a way to tap and get far without much problems.."
Tumblr media
"Later levels? Will there be something different happening than having to pass those simple pipes?"
