I have never played a single dragon age game

Actually I played about 30 minutes of Origins before getting bored but that is neither here nor there

But everytime I browse AO3 I usually end up scrolling past DA fics tagged "Hawke/Isabela"

and everytime I do I'm reminded of Hawke and Isobel from Simon R. Green's Haven books. These books were some of my absolute favorites when I was growing up and I still look back on them fondly

I need to go back and reread that whole series but again neither here nor there

and i'm always like "holy shit is that Guards of Haven fanfiction?"

and then it never is and i'm always disappointed.

The wasted potential of AVP:R and The Predator 2018

I will always be salty about how great these movies could have been.

An experienced Predator working to contain a xenomorph outbreak on earth before it becomes an apocalyptic scenario? Fuck yeah! That's a great premise but AVP:R completely fumbles it.

And the same with The Predator! An honorable Predator coming to Earth to help the humans against a villainous Predator? Sign me the fuck up! And yet The Predator 2018 is the worst film in the franchise.

Now these premsies are never going to get the great film they deserve because some fuckheads already made those movies and sucked at it.

Hellooo, people of the predator fandom! I have a question! I swear one time I read about a specific female yautja that was some form of scientist, but not by choice. I swear, I remember she was the only one left of her family, so the elder in her clan and on the ship didn’t allow her to hunt for fear of her being killed, so he “forced” her to study the inhabitants of every planet they visited so as to report back on whether it was a good hunting spot or not, since she was the last of her generation to protect her genes ig, lol.

Does anyone know/remember anything about this? I want to create an oc based off her, but idk if she was even real or not 😭

I like to play the recording of his confession, then assassinate him while he listens to it.

I always figured Hiram would HAVE to be executed. The magnitude of his crimes is monumental. And Emily would have to be the one to order that. She'd have to make attend the execution, and make a big speech, and actually watch him get executed. I think Corvo wouldn't want her to have to do that at 10 years old as one of her very first actions as Empress, so he takes care of it himself. And yes, also because revenge.

btw whenever I listen to King of the Rats by Bodysnatcher I always play this fun little headcanon movie in my head of a mixed high/low chaos Corvo beating Burrows within an inch of his life in a fit of rage when he confronts him in Return to the Tower, but ultimately deciding to spare him after all because despite his fury he wants Burrows to live with the shame of his mistakes and failures 🙂

I just read the Eyes Of The Demon anthology and have been inspired

Imagine The Titans by Tim Lebbon, the first story of the anthology, but different.

Spoilers for that story below.

Jeremiah Beck is left crippled after his encounter with Luna (the hostile female predator). He can't afford the procedures that will cure him, so he has to use a cane, or maybe even a wheelchair.

50 years later, Luna finally tracks him down. She tears through Hamilton Base and when she finally finds the object of her revenge for the past 50 years...he's old. He's old and infirm. He can barely stand up. The image of the mighty human warrior who defeated her decades ago that she's built up in her mind comes crashing down as she stands over an old man in a wheelchair, who couldn't fight her even if he wanted to.

Obviously it wouldn't be an honorable kill. She can't claim any trophy from this hunt. Killing him would make her Bad Blood.

Just imagine all her vengeful fire dying as she looks at his withered form, looking up at her with no fear, just melancholy.

In the end she leaves without killing him, and the spot she'd kept open on her trophy wall for his skull remains empty for the rest of her life.

What if the dragonborn got enthralled by a vampire?

Almost immediately after leaving Helgen, the dragonborn encounters a vampire who proceeds to enthrall and enslave them.

Said vampire doesn't find out that their new thrall is the dragonborn until much later - and then they realize that in order to prevent the world (and them) from being destroyed, they have to puppeteer this mindless husk of a dovahkiin through the process of saving the world.
