*Internal screaming* Hubby finally caved and decided to try out FFXIV with meeeeee I have been waiting to play ever since the game came out! TuT Here’s hoping he will like it! Art PSA: You Don't Need A Masters for Art

As an artist the only thing that matters is your portfolio, your networking ability, and your resume if you are applying for jobs at a company instead of freelancing.

There are an insane number of professional artists working in various parts of the art industry that do not have Masters Degrees or even Bachelors degrees. There are talented and successful artists who never finished college because they got what they needed out of it and bailed. There are artists who had degrees in completely unrelated fields and switched to becoming artists after.

Don’t let some dumb chucklefuck try to convince you that in order to be taken seriously as an artist, you need a Master’s Degree - that asshole just wants you to pony up more cash regardless of how much further you fall into debt. If you would like a masters anyway and have the cash to do it? Great! That’s totally cool - but don’t do it because some university is trying to make you think no one will take you seriously without one.

Art school is literally only for networking, for people who need a structured learning environment to get going and teach themselves, and for potential career aid if your school is really good about dragging in various companies to look at your stuff or helping you get an agent. That is It.

No one will give a shit if you have a masters degree, but a shit portfolio - especially if the person next to you has no degree, but an AMAZING portfolio.

Hello Everyone!

Going to be taking very limited slots for these because I have a lot of other work to do still but I need to start bringing some money in again so my cat and I don’t starve. I’ll either be using them as warm-ups or just to get some drawing in on days where I have little energy.

Your OCs of course do not have to be miqo’te, I just happen to draw a lot of them. They also do not need to be FFXIV related at all. All I require is plenty of references.
