she could feel the tension from the Secret Service. they reach for their guns and its only a sharp ‘no’ from the President that stops them from drawing them. the last thing she needed was for them to make the Rider angry, to cause him to lash out at them. they had families. she had met them. she didn’t want them to be killed because of a misunderstanding, because of a mistake. 

“just give me a minute with him.” she says quietly to her agents. she knows they don’t want to leave her alone but she cannot risk any mistake here. she waves a hand towards them and they step outside, but still keep an ear out for any sign of trouble to get her out. 

“of course I know what you do to them.” she replies quietly. 

she can feel the HEAT radiating off the other and leans back instinctively. there’s a brief flash in her mind, the feeling of flames burning at her hands. her hands tighten into fists in her lap, reminding herself that she was here .

she was not in iraq. she was not there. 

“I need your help finding the people who orchestrated the attack on the capital.” 

The Rider could feel their fear. Hands would have moved towards their weapons if the cooler head of the President didn’t stop them from ending their own lives so quickly. Right is she to assume that Noble Kale wouldn’t have given them as much mercy as she would have liked. Every sin they’d ever committed, herself included, was etched and singed upon their souls like ink on the pages of a book.

Swaying on his seat, burning gaze like the core of a raging blaze sets deep into the bleach white skull. Piercing through her, dissecting her soul with not but his eyes. As if trying to determine whether or not she was worthy of even continued breath let alone help from a Spirit of Vengeance.

“𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞. 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫.” The flickering blaze dances all around his head, emboldening itself the more he speaks.

“𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐨?“ The Rider rises, heavy boots sunk hard to wooden floor beneath the both of them.

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐭? 𝐈𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥?”

Wanda smiled softly, nodding her head in understanding. “Same here. Two beings inside one body. Chthon and I. Though, we are starting to think maybe it’s time to merge with the rest of him so that we may be complete.” Her tone shifted along with the pronouns, going from singular to plural. She rarely spoke in a plural form, Chthon did here and there, but preferred singular because he was in control. 

“Yeah... Well. I’m fine with the two of us being separate. You live your best life, girl, more power to ya.” Noble pressed at the veil that kept their minds split. The ethereal glass through which they communicated and shared their mental space. An idle hand runs through his matted hair, and he exhales slowly. A pained grimace overtakes his features for a moment as sweat boils and turns to steam against his heated flesh. He needed a drink. “I think he’d rather keep our current arrangement too.”

to anyone who thinks ghost rider isn’t confusing as hell, explain, definitively what is a spirit of vengeance, and which entities are actually spirits of vengeance

She pulled him from the hole he had created, getting the man back onto his feet. “Well, yes, but you are possessed by the spirit of the rider. I will call you Danny then, if you feel comfortable with that.” She was surprised that he wasn’t affected by the evil aura that was mixed with her own. 

“Two beings. One body. He’s the Rider, I’m Danny. You’re Wanda-- Not whatever that is boiling about in your body.” It wasn’t that he didn’t notice, or that he wasn’t burning about inside over whatever evil found itself pissing about inside her. Him and Noble just weren’t ravenous monsters. It definitely wasn’t helping his goddamned headache.
