To any Arcane fans who don’t play LoL, did Season 2 Act 1 seem like a lore drop of information you didn’t know about?
TLDR: My roommates play LoL. They were raving about the new act, especially episode 3. But, I found myself considerably confused during episode 3, especially trying to figure out the meaning of these plot points.
To me, it seemed like there were many new plot lines opened up (the Hexcore glitching, Ambessa and the rose thing, Janna mentioned, etc.), and I don’t really know how they’re going to close everything up. I thought there was plenty of plot lines to resolve from Season 1 (Vi/Jinx relationship, Victor dying, Jayce on council, Ekko and the Firelights, Piltover vs. Zaun…), so I wasn’t really expecting such a big lore drop.
While I’ve picked up on details like Janna from my roommates and their LoL knowledge, I wonder if there is a learning curve of sorts for any other fans that don’t play the game.
This is the last season, and while the LoL universe is definitely large enough to create multiple shows, I was confused why Warwick, Janna, and other characters were being hinted at when we won’t have a lot of time to feel connected to them. I’m just spitballing at this point, honestly. I love the Arcane art and storyline and was so excited to see how the storylines progressed, but it all seems to be moving so fast, so far.
(I also hated that they broke Vi and Cait up already. But that’s neither here nor there.)
