I know I'm rambling but hear me out. The Romanian Principalities and the Ottoman Empire have such a long history of battles and conflicts. But the thing is that the Ottoman Empire has a huge place in Romanian history and yet Romanian are barely mentioned in Turkish history. I get the fact that the Principalities were vasal to the Ottomans but they were defeated by Romanians plenty of times (which is rather impressive if we compare them , the Turks had an entire empire and Wallachia/Moldova/Transylvania were small 'countries' which weren't even independent). Also by defeating the Ottomans , Romanians stopped the expansion of the Ottoman Empire. A well known example for this is the Battle of Belgrad in which Mehmet II was defeated by John Hunyadi resulting in stopping the empire's expansion. Even Pope Calixt said the Transylvanian ruler's victory was the happiest event of his life.
