It’s a cold rainy night, and the deafening sound of rain fills your room in the darkness. You’re snuggled in bed on your phone, scrolling mindlessly when a notication pops up on your screen.

You open up the message to see a text from Dowoon.

Dowoon: yo

You were about to reply asking him why he was up at this hour of the night, but then you remembered that he was recording these days for the new album. He probably just finished for the night.

Dowoon: uhhh I was really hungry so I ordered dumplings from the only place that’s open this late and I kinda got hasty and ordered too much

y/n: and

y/n: why r u texting me about this

Dowoon: meanie nvm

y/n: omg I was joking what’s the problem lmao

Dowoon: do u want some

y/n: bro I’m not coming to the studio in the middle of the night during a thunderstorm just to pick up some dumplings

Much to your surprise, you opened your front door to see Dowoon holding an umbrella in one hand and a large paper bag in the other.

“Are you crazy, how long have you been standing there?,” you scold him while pulling him inside.

“Not long,” he replies as he sets down the food on your coffee table and shrugs off his wet jacket.

“Still, you really didn’t have to do that,” you sigh.

“Don’t worry about it now, y/n, it doesn’t matter. I’m here, you’re here, and we have warm food! It’s a win-win-win situation!,” he exclaims.

You can’t help but laugh out loud at his ridiculous expression.

“Alright, alright. But you get to choose the movie, ok?”

Jae was on tour in Europe for the past couple of weeks and he has been sending you dumb pictures of himself and the snow in different countries. You smiled as you unlocked your phone. Unsurprisingly, he had sent another picture of himself while it snowed.

[8:55pm] Jae comes into your bedroom with a bowl of his mom’s famous chicken noodle soup. You’ve been laying in bed all day, head pounding and nose dripping from the flu. He sits on the edge of the bed to brush away the hair from your sweaty forehead and places a sweet kiss on your temple. “Hey, after you finish this, I promise you’ll feel a thousand times better,” he smiles. And to no surprise, after finishing your meal and Jae by your side, your head feels a little bit clearer and your heart a lot more full.

When you woke up this morning, you felt the chill of the autumn breeze through your bedroom window. Snuggling deep into your duvet, you decided it was the perfect day to bake some of your famous pumpkin cheesecake bars. And you were going to need some help with them.

You texted the only person you trusted in the kitchen other than yourself, your careful and responsible boyfriend.

you: (hey u free today?)

sungjin: im gonna be finishing up some work today, but I’m free after 4

sungjin: why what’s up?

you: i was thinkinggg u could help me bake some pumpkin bars today :P

sungjin: omg

sungjin: I’ll be there as soon as I can

After a quick run to the grocery store, you began your seasonal deep cleaning of the house. You swept and mopped every inch of the floor and dusted until there was no dust and dirt to be seen. By the time you were done, it was three o’clock and Sungjin was going to be here soon. You quickly hopped into the shower and got ready, throwing on a comfy sweater that kept your whole body warm. And right on time, your doorbell rang.

You opened your door to see Sungjin in a big grey hoodie holding plastic bags that you were too familiar with; thai takeout you were both obsessed with.

“You got thai!!! Oh man, we’re gonna be passed out on the couch by the end of the night, aren’t we”, you laughed as Sungjin stepped inside.

“You already know it,” he grinned.

At that point you knew that between your shared love of food and Sungjin’s thoughtfulness, you two were definitely mean to be.

You grin at the sight of Sungjin’s surprised face as you bring in a birthday cake lit with candles into your shared bedroom. You place the cake in front of him as he sits up in bed, candle lights making his eyes gleam in the darkness. You quietly sing him a happy birthday, laughing as he closes his eyes to make a wish.

“...사랑하는 성진오빠, 상일 축하합니다!”

[Later in the night..]

“What did you wish for?,” you ask as the two of you cuddle in bed.

“Doesn’t matter. I have everything I need,” he smiles as he places a kiss on your forehead.

Dowoon takes you to the huge shopping center in town. It’s freezing cold out, but your hand is warm as he holds it gently in his coat pocket. A store selling cute plushies catches your eye, and you run towards it, dragging him along with you.
