I’m just so hung up on the sentence “having Helena and Ramon sweeping Chris away to Texas is not a an appropriate consequence to Eddie reacting poorly to an insane situation” like… Chris has literally called an Uber to run away before. This is established Chris Behavior and if you start seeing him as a 14 year old capable of impulsive behavior like any teenager, you realize that “asking Abuelo and Grandma if he can stay with them for a while” is 100% in character for him and actually no one made him do that.
