Daemonism has as many variations as there are people that practice it because of how deeply personal it is. It’s your brain, your inner voice. And no one can tell you your experience within your own mind is incorrect because you’re the only one who can possibly know that.
We have general guides and frameworks and exercises, but no two people can possibly have the exact same experience because our brains are all wired differently.
I don’t really look into or really hear much about any discourse in the community, but please know that I support everyone in doing daemonism their own way even if it’s different from everyone else. You know yourself best and I love to hear about everyone’s different practices and experiences. So I hope no one feels too self conscious about not doing everything the exact same as everyone else.
Some daemians are plural or nonhuman and see daemonism as inherently tied to their identities. While others like myself are neither and don’t view it as that. Our experiences and how we view ourselves when it comes to identity are different and that’s great!
Some people are able to project their daemons in their vision. Some people aren’t! And there’s nothing wrong with you for not being able to. Some people’s minds just don’t work that way.
Some people have multiple daemons for different facets of their identity, or were created to serve different purposes. While others just have one daemon as their other half. Everyone just has different needs.
There’s even so many different methods of form finding and discussion around it to reflect all our differences. And you can even choose not to have a settled form at all!
Everyone brings their own unique perspectives to the table and it enriches everyone in the community to hear about all the many different ways you can go about it. So if something doesn’t work for you, there are many other methods and possibilities to try instead.

Thinking that part of the reason why "love yourself, you are beautiful, adore yourself" falls completely flat on me is because I can't do anything with abstract instructions and it simply means nothing to me. But very funny is that I'm accidentally getting there anyway by entirely unconventional means (mind animal)
Love yourself: okay. How? What does that mean? How can I love something I have no particular feelings for? It just is. How do I have feelings on purpose? How do I make myself care? Am I supposed to pretend to have feelings I don't until it's real? I end up not doing this because it doesn't feel like an actual thing I can do
Dæmonism, apparently: okay, so imagine the other half of your mind voice, the one you bounce your inner dialogue off, as a person. Name them, find out what they're like, and now their opinions hold more weight. What do they want you to do? Would that benefit you? Is it possible that this part of you knows how to take care of you? Imagine them as a companion of your own, that is always with you wherever you go. Isn't it nice to be in your own company sometimes? You can represent them visually through an animal. There are many ways to determine what animal would fit. You see qualities of yourself in this animal, don't you think this is a creature worth of admiration, respect and love? Then why wouldn't you be? Build a relationship with this part of you, make a way of living with them, grant them kindness and feel love for them. But remember! They are you and you are them! OOPS you've been tricked into caring for yourself and holding yourself to a higher esteem!

After about a year of IFS therapy (which I’m still doing, just that it’s been a year) and radically rethinking what my internal dialogue is, Calsiman is coming back.
Will posting be? Ehh. The less I commit to that publically the more likely I’ll be to do it lol.

The dæmon app might not be worth it for the form-finding but it’s absolutely worth it for the notifications

tdf be like “daemonism isnt strictly about form finding, we are not limited by HDM’s idea of a daemon! …… BUT you can only join if you interact with the form finding forum first! if you dont dabble in form finding fuck you, you cant join!”

Getting back into form-finding, and while I'm not entirely settled (pun definitely intended) on them just yet, I've decided to update where I'm at in my bio ^^
I know technically neither bluebirds nor mockingbirds eat mice, but having that cat-bird-mouse thing going on in my "big three" feels like a funny lil pseudo-food-chain lmao
Also yes I did just call them "my big three"—the astrology terminology also seems fun and fitting here. Like sure, I'm a Sokoke cat sun, jumping mouse moon, mockingbird rising, why not lol

Logically I know it’s ~supposed~ to be pronounced “ˈdiːmən” but legally you can’t stop me from pronouncing it “ˈdaɪmɔːn” and/or “deɪmən.”

What is a daemon, anyway?
I figured, as a way to get a bit of inspiration for what to write about (I'm new to this blogging thing), I'd start by answering the questions I asked in my daemonism survey. So, starting with the first one:
"What is a daemon to you?"
Which is a complicated question, with many layers to it! A daemon can be so many things.
Daemons, and daemonism as a whole, are mostly based on His Dark Materials - a work of fiction. But there's more to daemons than that. Daemonism has developed into something that, in many ways, transcends the source that inspired it. Daemons have the potential to be so much; the only limit is the mind, and it should go without saying that the mind is an incredibly diverse, incredibly powerful thing.
But the question is "what is a daemon to you". So I'm going to let go of all the infinite possibilities for a moment, and focus on what my experience has been.
A daemon is a lifelong companion.
A daemon is a friend.
A daemon is always there for you, and always supports you - in their own way.
And a daemon is intrinsically connected to their daemian; they're close to the heart, always (even if they live in the mind). I could no more imagine existing without my daemons than I could imagine life without my emotions, or my sense of logic. They're so very vital to who I am.
But a daemon is also themself. Usually. They have their own identity. They may even have their own preferences - their own thoughts and opinions. Some are autonomous, some are not; it doesn't matter. They're still daemons.
There is no limit to what a daemon can be. There's no boundaries. If anyone tries to tell you what your daemon can or can't be, ignore them.
A daemon is, above all else, personal. What it means is for you, and you alone, to decide.
{With a little help from your daemon, ofc c;} - Aka
